ARC Review: Eternally Damned by January Rayne (Shallow Cove Dimensions #1)

Eternally Damned (Shallow Cove™ Dimensions, #1)Eternally Damned by January Rayne
My rating: 3.5 of 5 leaves

I received the ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

The actual rating is 3.5 leaves (yes my blog uses leaves as the rating system). and the reason, 1.5 leaves were not added is due to several reasons that I'll discuss below.

So let's start that I read the book together with the prequel which I loved immensely! Meeting Severide, Esmeralda, Alexander and Atreyu. And the world that was built was amazing! Honestly, I advise everyone to read the prequel - Eternally Hers: The Introduction Novella to Shallow Cove™ Dimensions before you start this book because you need to know what happens before the start of this one. And it would shed so much light on what's going on with Alexander and Maven.

Now, let me be honest and don't get me wrong! This book is "trashy" in all the good ways! And maybe you won't agree with my definition of trashy, but for me, it's those books and TV shows that suck you in immediately and you just love it, but you also see some absurdity of the whole situation, but you still effing love it! Because sometimes you just need a book that has so much sexy action that you think it's not possible, but hell you just love reading it and can't put it down.

This is one of those books where the main characters are attracted immediately and there's the whole fate and mate, etc. So if this is not your cup of tea, I doubt you'll love it, but if you need a light read with tons of d!ck action ( A LOT OF D!CK ACTION), then this should be your next read!

Meet Maven, who I liked as a character for the first half of the book, then she pissed me off somewhere in the middle, but I came back to loving her again by the end of the book! The only thing that I would have wanted to see more was the whole transition of her accepting being a witch. The whole transition was so rushed, hence why I can it is "trashy". Everything was going sooo fast. And don't get me wrong I liked how fast everything was going, but I did want a bit more world-building.

I'm still concerned with the whole Brenden thing, I really need to know more about his reasons and the whole war, and I hope like hell we'll get more answers in the next books because while reading about sexy time is great, reading about the world is always so interesting.

And last but not least, Alexander. Now I liked the guy in the first few chapters, then he royally pissed me off, okay maybe not pissed me off but rather his moping and the alpha male just wasn't getting me. I mean, let's be honest, why's he the master of the coven? why not Maven? I mean she's the one because of whom everything is being rebuilt, but no, the male swoops in and "saves" the day and gets all credit. (I think my feminism was a tad bit wonder with too much Alexander as an alpha hole).

Oh, and the last thing before I finish off my rambling thoughts. Where do I petition to make this into a reverse harem? Like honestly, I was way too pumped for Maven being the beloved to both Alexander and Atreyu, but noo.... I get just a normal couple. But I wasn't complaining, so all's good (okay I'm lying I was complaining just a bit).

So, if you're on a bit of a reading slump, and need some fun vampire spicy book, grab your copy of the prequel and grab your copy once it's live on the 5th of April!

XOXO

Katie

Book Review: Fashionably Dead by Robyn Peterman (Hot Damned #1)

Title: Fashionably Dead

Author: Robyn Peterman

Series: Hot Damned #1

Publication Date: 2 Sept 2013

Publisher:  ------

Summary:

Vampyres don’t exist. They absolutely do not exist.

At least I didn’t think they did ‘til I tried to quit smoking and ended up Undead. Who in the hell did I screw over in a former life that my getting healthy equates with dead?

Now I’m a Vampyre. Yes, we exist whether we want to or not. However, I have to admit, the perks aren’t bad. My girls no longer jiggle, my ass is higher than a kite and the latest Prada keeps finding its way to my wardrobe. On the downside, I’m stuck with an obscenely profane Guardian Angel who looks like Oprah and a Fairy Fighting Coach who’s teaching me to annihilate like the Terminator.

To complicate matters, my libido has increased to Vampyric proportions and my attraction to a hotter than Satan’s underpants killer rogue Vampyre is not only dangerous . . . it’s possibly deadly. For real dead. Permanent death isn’t on my agenda. Avoiding him is my only option. Of course, since he thinks I’m his, it’s easier said than done. Like THAT’S not enough to deal with, all the other Vampyres think I’m some sort of Chosen One.

Holy Hell, if I’m in charge of saving an entire race of blood suckers, the Undead are in for one hell of a ride.

My Thoughts:

Ah, no matter how many times I read this book it’s hilarious. I might have read it fully only twice, but who said I can’t read my favourite parts from time to time? But let me get back to the book. are you ready for some “fang” humour and action? Don’t worry no sparcles, only fantastic humour and coolection of prada whores. Therefore, if you love Prada, join the club, I’m in it, though I am not a Prada whore, maybe in the future!

Now, let me ask you some mild questions! Do you smoke? Do you want to stop but do not know how? If you answered yes, to both of the questions, meet Astrid, she’s like you. So do you want to stop smoking no matter the consequences? Then find a hypnotist, but beware, that might turn you into a vampype. No kidding there! But our story just doesn’t stop there. There are tons of fun stuff, especially character’s names and maybe even their appearances, I’ll spoil just one there's someone who looks like Oprah, yup, no kidding! You just have to get your coy now, I believe it’s free on amazon right now! And get into the lives of vampires. There’s a lot that we all knew, but there will be even more to the other” world.

Follow Astrid on her journey to cure her addiction of smoking and getting tangled up with a very important person. I know I’m trying not to spoil anything here, but it’s too damn hard. Have fun with Astrid and Ethan and their bickering, and I’m off to finally start the 2nd book of the series, it took me quite long to get it… enjoy it to its fullest and don’t forget to share your thoughts below. Stay tuned for more reviews as well as promos. Don’t miss your next favourite book or manga! Happy reading!

XOXO

What is definitely not part of the plan is the return of her long-lost father, who claims he can bring Allison's mother back from the dark place her mind has gone. Allison doesn't trust her father, so why would she believe his stories about a long forgotten Irish people, the Tuatha de Danaan? But truths have a way of revealing themselves. Secrets will eventually surface. And Allison must learn to set aside her plan and work with her father if there is even a small chance it could restore her mother's sanity.

As you have noticed I’m back on my blog and I have tons of books and mangas for you. However, I will be taking another one year break off blogging in about a week, but let’s talk about that later. As promised or more likely as I was predicting, during my off blogging time I tried to catch up o my currently and to-read lists as well as books that I got from authors, publishers and of course NetGalley. So if you have sent me a book for a review even in 2014, be sure to check back or wait for my email as I’ve been busy with all of them.

This title I got from Netgalley and I don’t know the reason why I was completely ignoring it. The book started really well, but after 5 chapters I got so understandable that it was too confusing. And now I’m pretty sure you are wondering if I’m all right, because the last sentence was an absolute gibberish. But trust me, once you read the book you’ll understand! Somewhere near the end the author just got tired and rushed everything without even having a second thought. Or maybe it was just me for whom Aiofe’s release from her prison or escape or whatever it was she did wasn’t such a novelty! I’m never good with Fae or fairy books but here I didn’t even remember it was about that and once I got to that part it was too late to abandon the book.

Another thing that pissed me off was an all encompassing description: he was so beautiful I couldn’t look away. I got that the author wanted us to picture the hottest man alive with blue eyes but a bit of description of his other features wouldn’t have hurt too. And for God’s sake why was every one so astonished to know that Allison was Liam’s kid? Didn’t they look totally alike? And how o one could ever see it? I do not really want to start going though everything that pissed me off. Okay the last one. The none existence of romance, sorry of a  normal romance sure was a turn down for me. But everyone is different, therefore you might find this books fantastic. Me? I’m not even considering reading the next book. I might, but not right now! Enjoy it and don’t forget to share your thoughts below! Stay tuned for more reviews as well as promos. Don’t miss your next favourite book or manga! Happy reading!
