Summary:

Personal Thoughts:
First time I read the book was in 2011, first four books of the serie were already out, and I don't know but it was the first or second book I have read on a tablet. So far my favourite fantasy book was Harry Potter, which I have read so many times I have lost count. I don't know what I have expected of this book, but definately not that it would have been that awesome, and as good as Harry Potter serie. And now I have read TMI series for like 4 times already.
The book tells us a story of a 15 year-old girl - Clary Fray, who a totally normal teenage life, whose mother drives her crazy with her overprotectivety. And once Clary goes with her best friend Simon to a club, where she witnesses a murder that nobody else can see. After that her life crumbles on her eyes, she finds out dark secrets of our world, and soon is sucked into this new world, the only question is, will she be able to find her mom who is gone missing, and save the world, find out her best friend's secret and fall in love with the most arrogant guy ever?
Clary Fray is one of the main characters of the book, I liked her very much, for her features mostly. For her deep love amd faith in friendship, for her sacrificial nature, for her snarky comments while speaking with Jace. She is such a character which you would like to be or have as a friend. Jace Wayland the most charming in his arrogance. The character which leaves you loving and hating him at the same time. The character which is so fun sometimes that you can't help but lol, but sometimes you just wish to stramgle him because of his snarky comments.
Simon Lewis, the best best friend. Always there, ans so in live with Clary that it hurt to see him hurt without being answered on his love, but he had to understand that she only saw a friend in him, never did she give him any hints on more. Isabelle, the only thing that always stays with me after reading the first book about her is that she the most gorgeous girl ever, that she loves high heels, has an awesome wip, and is an awful cook. Alec Lighwood, Izzie's brother and Jace's parabatie, that guy was the one I never hated even when he threated Clary maybe a little, but I really did laught at how he tried to "mark" jace as his "territory". That seriously funny, and how leapt in front of the deamon to kill it, that was so awesome and heartbreaking at the same time. But still he was a good character from time to time.
Clary's mother, a total bitch in the beginning, but her motiffs and actions are totally understandable to the end of the book. First you hate her, but then you really do understand her. Actually I can name all characters, but then it won't be interesting to read the book. And it is one of the best books and to read books to read. Not only because of it's in time of it's writing unique plot ( i mean shadowhunters) the world Cassnasra Clare introduces to us, is so brighly painted that you will catch yourself thinking maybe that guy is a fairy or a werewolf, and that one there a demon or a shadowhunter. I did. It is so easy to read, that you find yourself lost in it after first to pages, and everytime you read it agin you find something new. It has so many funny moments, that they stay with you even when you read other books. Here's some of my favourites:
“NEPHILIM: FACILIS DESCENSUS AVERNO.
“Is that meant to be the Mortal Cup?” she asked.
Jace nodded. “And that’s the motto of the Nephilim—the Shadowhunters—there on the base.”
“What does it mean?”
Jace’s grin was a white flash in the darkness. “It means ‘Shadowhunters: Looking Better in Black Than the Widows of our Enemies Since 1234.’”
“Jace—”
It means, said Jeremiah, “The descent into Hell is easy.”
“Nice and cheery,” said Clary,”....
“How did you know I had Shadowhunter blood? Was there some way you could tell?”
“I guessed,” he said, latching the door behind them. “It seemed like the most likely explanation.”
“You guessed? You must have been pretty sure, considering you could have killed me.”
He pressed a button in the wall, and the elevator lurched into action with a vibrating groan that she felt all through the bones in her feet. “I was ninety percent sure.”
“I see,” Clary said.
There must have been something in her voice, because he turned to look at her. Her hand cracked across his face, a slap that rocked him back on his heels. He put his hand to his cheek, more in surprise than pain. “What the hell was that for?”
“The other ten percent,” she said, and they rode the rest of the way down to the street in silence.”
But those are my favourite funny moments from the book, or the moments which I find everytime I read amusing. But you may find others. And one more thing I wanted to say, please firnd one or two days in your shedule and read the book first and after watch the film, or maybe not, but you should definately read the book before or after.
