Hello everyone and welcome back to Katie’s Corner! Yep, I’m again covering Chiba Kozue’s work. This time it’s a sweet one shot, which makes your heart flutter like crazy. I’ve read this story more time then I’ve read my high school algebra textbook. And that’s quite a lot, if I count that I had that particular one for more than 5 years and I read it at least 5 days a week. Okay, I’m straying off the topic.

Every time I read this work I fall in love, get my heart broken and fall in love once again. There are 48 or so pages, but they hold so much emotion, that you find yourself first happy, then extremely sad and then again happy that everything worked out. Okay, that was for me, I don’t think it might be the same for you, but I hope it is. Let me summarize it a bit. By some circumstances Beniko (15) ends up eating lunch with her teacher – Nomoto Yukia (25). And well, during their interactions she falls in love with him, but hey, when she comes to his flat to make him some food to cure his cold, he uses that moments to push her down to show that he can’t be trusted. Don’t worry, nothing happened, another teacher came in. Bummer! And then our teacher actually confesses in the principal’s office.

But that’s not all, he takes up and leaves for 5 years, to afterwards come back and claim what was his. This moment is breathtaking. My heart stopped beating for a minute or so. And I mean it, every time I read it, my heart would stop and a smile would appear on my face.

This might sound a bit creepy, but I do like reading mangas where there is a student-teacher relationship, especially if the teacher is a guy. The whole it’s forbidden always attracts me. (Only in a story, don’t imagine anything there!) Though I especially loved Yukia, but I did think he was a bit foolish. How could he really believe that Beni would wait for him for 5 years, but then he was still in love with her after 5 years. The story is laced with a but of humor too, but I guess it’s kind of dark humor. Though it really reminded me of my situation.

I mean, I just turned 20 and that’s what I received from half of the people I know! Though unlike Beni, I do not remember falling in love with anyone at the age of 15. But well, I won’t say no to a similar guy as Yukia. Kidding, well, not really.

Hello everyone! Welcome back to Katie’s Corner. Today is the last stop in my Satoshi Morie’s works marathon. I do not mean that there are no more works of her. There are at least 3 that I’ve heard of, however I can’t really review them due to not having them translated on the website where I read them online. As soon as they are updated I will review them, because one of them already caught my eye and I really want to read it. Guess, I just need to study Japanese.

Now getting back to today’s one shot. One word that describes it best is – HOT. Yes, with capital letters. It has too much hotness for a 30 pages story. It was the first time I saw Satoshi Morie’s manga with a genre Mature and hell if it didn’t prove it. It showed much more than white porcelain showed, but then again with this kind of plot the roughness and hotness was just to the point. The plot is really amazing. The idea behind it was one that comes I real life a lot. Do you think that you are alone? A piece of puzzle, which needs another piece to make you whole? Well, meet our main character – Miyabi. She is in love with Chyaki. And well, her love is mutual, but due to some circumstances he doesn’t want to go out with her, he doesn’t want to bring pain to her. But Miyabi doesn’t care. She wants him; she wants him to complete him.

She gets her wish fulfilled at the end of the story. And that’s what brings out the hotness of the manga. I really loved the words: “people are born alone without a perfect match, so to become one with someone else, they continue changing form.” I loved Miyabo a lot. Yes, she was pushy but at the same time she knew whom she was pushing and that he would crack and they would form one. Chiyaki is also an amazing character. His self-control is something outstanding. And when he cracked and accepted Miyabi it was a moment that made me forget how to breather. The ending does say that those two will be together, but how they will overcome some issues would have been great about. I didn’t really want to say goodbye to both Miyabi and Chiyaki.

He’s absolutely hot, isn’t he? Well, that made me squeal with excitement.

Hello everyone! Welcome back to Katie’s Corner and the marathon of Satoshi Morie’s works. The fourth and the last week of this marathon have started. This week I’ll be only having two one shots to share with you. But they are quite amazing. I suppose you stayed with the marathon all the way and may have even found your next favorite read. Well, let’s get started now.

Today I have a 40 pages one shot, full of mystery and action. Well, it was an amazing attempt on horror and well; I loved it a lot. Yuzu is quite a character there. His eyes make you shiver, but you just can’t hate him. His ideas are far from ideal, but you still understand him and sometimes you even share his ideas. Atori is the calm and composed one. But you know the saying that when the calm person gets mad you should run as fast as you can. That’s juts Atori for you. The plot was quite interesting. Imagine a school for orphans and those students are the ones who bring justice to other schools of there were some murders. In short they are killers. Twisted? That word doesn’t really explain it. Yuzu’s hated for adults is something much more that a feeling, it’s like his core for living. The guy has a sense of justice that is very different from ours, but it’s something to look at. If you are a killer, you will be punished. Where you the victim or not he doesn’t care. The way he pushed the murderer was something amazing. I nearly choked on my tea.

Now, let me address another issue, which we fans have mentioned in the comments. BL? Really?

Well, it may have become a shounen-ai if there were next chapters, but it’s just a one shot. The last page was something to munch on. Maybe those two will be visiting your school next as transfer students? I wish I was still in high school to see those two guys in my school, but that’s just my wishful thinking.

Hello everyone. Welcome back to Katie’s Corner; nice having you here. The third week of my Satoshi Morie’s marathon of works is coming to the end. Only one week left and if I am not mistaken only some one shots are left. Though there are 2 or even 3 full mangas, however I can’t review them yet, because only 1 chapter of each serialization is available on the website where I read. When I get more chapters to read, I will definitely share them with you.

Okay, back on track. What do we have today? A really sweet story, with quite a sip of action. Meet our heroine – Miyako. She is a bodyguard for her “master” – Haruka. And there’s Haruka’s business partner and friend – Michitaka, who confesses to her. Well, both Haruka and his friend are older that Miyako, and there’s this whole age difference problem. I didn’t really get why she still chose Michitaka as her love interest. However, the ending leaves a lot to our imagination. We can build their future ourselves.

It is transparent that Haruka loves Miyako as a woman, but at the same time he isn’t able to confess his love, because as he says this way Miyako will lose her idea for existence. But in the end he does tell Michitaka that he isn’t giving up and if something happens he is willing to kill his friend to protect the girl he loves. The manga has a thrill and a great humor, you will laugh a lot, but will also have something to think on.
