Don't miss The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones already in theatres August 2013!!!!

Summary:

When fifteen-year-old Clary Fray heads out to the Pandemonium Club in New York City, she hardly expects to witness a murder -- much less a murder committed by three teenagers covered with strange tattoos and brandishing bizarre weapons. Then the body disappears into thin air. It's hard to call the police when the murderers are invisible to everyone else and when there is nothing -- not even a smear of blood -- to show that a boy has died. Or was he a boy?

This is Clary's first meeting with the Shadowhunters, warriors dedicated to ridding the earth of demons. It's also her first encounter with Jace, a Shadowhunter who looks a little like an angel and acts a lot like a jerk. Within twenty-four hours Clary is pulled into Jace's world with a vengeance, when her mother disappears and Clary herself is attacked by a demon. But why would demons be interested in ordinary mundanes like Clary and her mother? And how did Clary suddenly get the Sight? The Shadowhunters would like to know. . . .

Exotic and gritty, exhilarating and utterly gripping, Cassandra Clare's ferociously entertaining fantasy takes readers on a wild ride that they will never want to end.

Personal Thoughts:

First time I read the book was in 2011, first four books of the serie were already out, and I don't know but it was the first or second book I have read on a tablet. So far my favourite fantasy book was Harry Potter, which I have read so many times I have lost count. I don't know what I have expected of this book, but definately not that it would have been that awesome, and as good as Harry Potter serie. And now I have read TMI series for like 4 times already.

The book tells us a story of a 15 year-old girl - Clary Fray, who a totally normal teenage life, whose mother drives her crazy with her overprotectivety. And once Clary goes with her best friend Simon to a club, where she witnesses a murder that nobody else can see. After that her life crumbles on her eyes, she finds out dark secrets of our world, and soon is sucked into this new world, the only question is, will she be able to find her mom who is gone missing, and save the world, find out her best friend's secret and fall in love with the most arrogant guy ever?

Clary Fray is one of the main characters of the book, I liked her very much, for her features mostly. For her deep love amd faith in friendship, for her sacrificial nature, for her snarky comments while speaking with Jace. She is such a character which you would like to be or have as a friend. Jace Wayland the most charming in his arrogance. The character which leaves you loving and hating him at the same time. The character which is so fun sometimes that you can't help but lol, but sometimes you just wish to stramgle him because of his snarky comments.

Simon Lewis, the best best friend. Always there, ans so in live with Clary that it hurt to see him hurt without being answered on his love, but he had to understand that she only saw a friend in him, never did she give him any hints on more. Isabelle, the only thing that always stays with me after reading the first book about her is that she the most gorgeous girl ever, that she loves high heels, has an awesome wip, and is an awful cook. Alec Lighwood, Izzie's brother and Jace's parabatie, that guy was the one I never hated even when he threated Clary maybe a little, but I really did laught at how he tried to "mark" jace as his "territory". That seriously funny, and how leapt in front of the deamon to kill it, that was so awesome and heartbreaking at the same time. But still he was a good character from time to time.

Clary's mother, a total bitch in the beginning, but her motiffs and actions are totally understandable to the end of the book. First you hate her, but then you really do understand her. Actually I can name all characters, but then it won't be interesting to read the book. And it is one of the best books and to read books to read. Not only because of it's in time of it's writing unique plot ( i mean shadowhunters) the world Cassnasra Clare introduces to us, is so brighly painted that you will catch yourself thinking maybe that guy is a fairy or a werewolf, and that one there a demon or a shadowhunter. I did. It is so easy to read, that you find yourself lost in it after first to pages, and everytime you read it agin you find something new. It has so many funny moments, that they stay with you even when you read other books. Here's some of my favourites:

                         “NEPHILIM: FACILIS DESCENSUS AVERNO.
“Is that meant to be the Mortal Cup?” she asked.
Jace nodded. “And that’s the motto of the Nephilim—the Shadowhunters—there on the     base.”
                    “What does it mean?”
Jace’s grin was a white flash in the darkness. “It means ‘Shadowhunters: Looking Better in Black Than the Widows of our Enemies Since 1234.’”
                     “Jace—”
It means, said Jeremiah, “The descent into Hell is easy.”
                      “Nice and cheery,” said Clary,”....

“How did you know I had Shadowhunter blood? Was there some way you could tell?”
“I guessed,” he said, latching the door behind them. “It seemed like the most likely explanation.”
“You guessed? You must have been pretty sure, considering you could have killed me.”
He pressed a button in the wall, and the elevator lurched into action with a vibrating groan that she felt all through the bones in her feet. “I was ninety percent sure.”
                    “I see,” Clary said.
There must have been something in her voice, because he turned to look at her. Her hand  cracked across his face, a slap that rocked him back on his heels. He put his hand to his cheek, more in surprise than pain. “What the hell was that for?”
“The other ten percent,” she said, and they rode the rest of the way down to the street in silence.”

But those are my favourite funny moments from the book, or the moments which I find everytime I read amusing. But you may find others. And one more thing I wanted to say, please firnd one or two days in your shedule and read the book first and after watch the film, or maybe not, but you should definately read the book before or after. Check out my blog entry about Movie VS Book. And Happy Reading. Enjoy the book, and I don't think I will be writing soon, because I have three new books on my desk waiting for me at home, while I am on a holiday. And again Happy Reading, and please leave comments I will be really glad, even if they are not good.

Summary:

Daemon will do anything to get Katy back.

After the successful but disastrous raid on Mount Weather, he’s facing the impossible. Katy is gone. Taken. Everything becomes about finding her. Taking out anyone who stands in his way? Done. Burning down the whole world to save her? Gladly. Exposing his alien race to the world? With pleasure.

All Katy can do is survive.

Surrounded by enemies, the only way she can come out of this is to adapt. After all, there are sides of Daedalus that don’t seem entirely crazy, but the group’s goals are frightening and the truths they speak even more disturbing. Who are the real bad guys? Daedalus? Mankind? Or the Luxen?

Together, they can face anything.

But the most dangerous foe has been there all along, and when the truths are exposed and the lies come crumbling down, which side will Daemon and Katy be standing on?

And will they even be together?

My Thoughts:

Do we all remember how the Opal ended? if not, I am going to recite the last two or tree sentences:
...Our eyes locked, and I would never, ever forget the terror in his, the look of pure helplessness. Everything felt surreal on my end, like I really wasn’t here. I tried to smile for him, but I’m not sure I managed one.
“It’ll be okay,” I whispered as tears filled my eyes. The doors were coming out of the ceiling and the floor. “It’ll be all right.”
Daemon’s green eyes held a glassy sheen. His arm reached out, fingers splayed. They never reached the laser or the door. “I love you, Katy. Always have. Always will,” he said, voice thick and hoarse with panic. “I will come back for you. I will—”
The emergency doors sealed shut with a soft thud. “I love you,” I said, but Daemon… Daemon was gone. Gone on the other side of the doors and I was trapped—with the Arum and Daedalus. For a moment I couldn’t think, couldn’t breathe. I opened my mouth to scream, but terror poured into me, cutting off the sound.
I turned around slowly, lifting my head as a tear rolled down my cheek. An Arum stood there, head tilted to the side. I couldn’t see his eyes behind the sunglasses, and I was glad I couldn’t.
He knelt, and beyond him and the other Arums, I could see men in black uniforms. The Arum reached out, trailing an icy finger down my cheek, chasing the tear, and I recoiled away, pressing against the emergency doors.
“This is going to hurt,” the Arum said. He leaned in, his face inches from mine and his breath cold against my mouth.
“Oh God,” I whispered.
A burst of pain encompassed every cell in my body, and the air flew out of my lungs. Suspended there, I couldn’t move away. My arms didn’t work. Someone grabbed me from the side, but I couldn’t feel. It felt like I was still screaming, but there was no sound.
There was no Daemon.

And those of you who have read the books, know that it was the first time that Daemon confesses his love. I really wanted to kill him, and I think he wanted to kill himself too. Because when he wakes up the he is saying that he had to tell Katy every time that he loved her, every freaking moment, but it really took him that long to confess his feelings.

I wanted to read the book from Daemon's POV, and I got it, It was a splendid idea to divide the book to give us Katy's and Daemon's POVs, and I hope the the fifth book ( Opposition ) will be also divided like in Origin.

This book, gives us new Katy, more mature I think, and the one, who is now in tune with her new life, and it had to be really difficult to be in tune with new life, but she managed it. But I don't want to talk about Katy or Daemon in this review, maybe a little. I do want to talk about Blake, Mattew and Dawson and Beth.

Blake, the guy who had betrayed them in Onyx and in Opal. I do think he had a death wish showing up near Katy in Origin at area 51. Last time ( I mean when I was writing a review for Opal ) I said that he was a desperate person, and was even on his side on some point, but now, I did hate him, and wished time to die, and unfortunately or fortunately my wish came true. What the Hell was he thinking when he showed up at Katy's cell-room. And after, at her stress test. He wanted to be dead and he got. He absolutely knew, that she will kill him, she promised him that. But I do want to understand why in hell was Blake doing what he was doing. Why destroying Katy's life, ( if he liked her ( he told her that in Opal),), if he even didn't gain on it anything? Chris was free to come and go. I understand the bad actions in name of good  outcome, but bad actions, betrayal and for what? Nothing just to make a person miserable and what else? Kill me but I don't really understand any of his actions now. But screw Blake, and let's move on to Mattew.

Mattew, a person who was like father to Blacks siblings and Thompsons. They trusted him, never even could they think that he would be the one betraying them. But it is said that betrayal is always closer to us then we think, and this just was it. It was awful to find out that it was Will who betrayed Beth and Dawson, but even if Will was family Beth didn't know him until she came to Petersburg, and Mattew, the triplets knew him their whole life. And knowing that it was actually Mattew who betrayed the both Black brothers was something that blew my mind, and I think I would have just acted as Dawson did. And my emotion on that episode which was barely more that 3 pages was rage, total, uncontrable, just like this:

And I think the last issue I want to discuss now, is Beth's and Dawson's situation aka Origin aka we are gonna have a freaking baby. There you go, I think I just spilled the best spoiler, but still, you would have guessed it right when you would read about Beth and how Dawson was super overprotective. And there everybody thought it will be Katy who will get pregnant.  So soon we will have little Micah, who I seriously loved, and I also had thought he was like Damien from the Omen, even before Katy said it. I would love to see him in Opposition, that will be serious ass-kicking and fun. And yeah, Archer + Dee = in love???? Good luck guys, I am totally for that union, and hell there babies will be something much more cool than Origins. Go, go guys.

I will not speak about my two favourites, and main characters aka Katy and Daemon, but you will be blown by them I guarantee that, I was. And what will they do, Holy Crap and I am not only talking about at last sleeping together, I think I should shut up, or I will, spill the most romantic scenes, and I don't want to do that. That will surely spoil the whole fun.

Reading last two paragraphs, and actually acknowledging that the book is going to end on a best cliffhanger so far in the series, the only emotion I had was " OH, CRAP!!!!!" I think this photo is what I have looked like to my mom just 20 minutes ago.

I really liked the book, loved it to say the truth, and just read it, those of you who haven't read the series, begin it, yes, you will have to wait another year or so for the final book, but the wait will be worth it 10000%. But even though I loved the book, maybe some of you won't, but I seriously doubt that, but still, Happy Reading, and please tell me what you thought of the book. Thanks, and enjoy!! :))

Review : Valkyrie Rising by Ingrid Paulson (Valkyrie #1)

Summary (from Goodreads)

Title: Valkyrie Rising

Author: Ingrid Paulson

Publication Date: 9th October 2012

Publisher:  HarperTeen

Goodreads - Amazon - Barnes & Noble

Summary:

Nothing ever happens in Norway. But at least Ellie knows what to expect when she visits her grandmother: a tranquil fishing village and long, slow summer days. And maybe she’ll finally get out from under the shadow of her way-too-perfect big brother, Graham, while she’s there.

What Ellie doesn’t anticipate is Graham’s infuriating best friend, Tuck, tagging along for the trip. Nor did she imagine boys going missing amid rumors of impossible kidnappings. Least of all does she expect something powerful and ancient to awaken in her and that strange whispers would urge Ellie to claim her place among mythological warriors. Instead of peace and quiet, there’s suddenly a lot for a girl from L.A. to handle on a summer sojourn in Norway! And when Graham vanishes, it’s up to Ellie—and the ever-sarcastic, if undeniably alluring Tuck—to uncover the truth about all the disappearances and thwart the nefarious plan behind them.

Deadly legends, hidden identities, and tentative romance swirl together in one girl’s unexpectedly-epic coming of age.

My Thoughts:

So, I really thought why not to finish with all my books on North Mythology. I actually read this one before Rune Series by Ednah Walters. This was the book, which made me interested in the Nordic Mythology. I came across this book in December 2012, but as I had this whole school exams, and somehow, I didn't get interested, or I just had some other books to read. But the point as always is, that my low expectations were disapointed, and I really liked the book. It actually had everything I like in the book. Great main female character, who I really liked for her character, funny and arrogant male character, Awesome family secret and of course lot's of action.

Elsa (Ellie) is funny, responsible character. By responsible I mean that she takes responsibility on her destiny, and her family, and the town where they want to burn her because they think she's responsible for all disapearances. Actually I always laugh at such cities, and they really do drive me crazy sometimes.

Actually, I won't tell you much, just that this book is full of action once you read chapter like 7 or 8. Best girl character, and really hot guy, a brother, family secret and of course gods who as always try to kill or do something stupid to each other. I think the book doesn't need any words to describe it. the book talks for itself, and actually the pre-short story is also awesome, but it is better to read the book first. And I do want the book to have the prequel, it will be interesting what will Loki do.

New Book by Cameo Renae coming october 29th

New book by one of my favourite authors Cameo Renae. ARV-3 coming on October 29th 2013. Cover soon to come. It is her newest YA Post Apocalyptic/Dystopian/Romance novel.

Description:

June 6, 2014: the beginning of the end. The Apocalypse.
A nuclear fallout wiped every living on the planet from existence, except for a few thousand of us who took shelter in underground bunkers across the globe.
Now, after thirteen long years, we were finally able to return to the topside and begin to rebuild.
WE thought we were alone. We were never more wrong. Scientists had worked on creating an anti-radiation vaccine (ARV). the first two attempts failed, but the government still distributed the third serum to the masses, in an effort to aid those had no shelter. It worked, keeping those who remained in the topside alive... But, it also altered them. This new evil and infectious threat had completely outnumbered us.
Now, we not only had to rebuild our planet. We would have to fight for it.

I think this is a totally new genre for Cameo, so fans of Hidden Wings series, and In My Dreams novel, and those even who haven't read any of her books. Let's just wish her luck, in making it as awesome as it sounds.

With Love,

Katie

Summary:

Nothing can stop Raine Cooper when she wants something...
Raine finally knows that her gorgeous neighbor, Torin St. James, is a legend straight out of Norse mythology, and that her feelings for him are strong. Torin is crazy about Raine too, breaking the one rule he lives by: Never fall for a mortal. The problem is he no longer remembers her, his memories erased by Norns—Norse destiny deities—to punish her for defying them.

So Raine comes up with a plan...
She will make Torin forget his one rule a second time and fall in love with her all over again.
But she quickly learns that well-laid plans do not work when dealing with deities and supernatural beings. Desperate, Raine makes choices that could not only tear her and Torin further apart, but lead to the destruction of everything and everyone she loves

My Thoughts:

I loved this one as much as I did the first one even I think. I was so interested how will Raine struggle with Torin's no memories of her, and how will she make him fall in love with her again. I thought I would be disappointed, but no, it was so worth my time and money, and I actually wanted to strangle my mom, who took my tablet away so I couldn't read the book. That seriously killed me. But fortunately I just finished it ( mom's in the shower xD ) and now have time to write the review.

First of all, Raine's dad coming back, Eirik slowly turning evil, Torin being an ass with his memory loss, Andris being a good friend, Cora being an idiot, Lavania being arrogant, and so on made the book so interesting, and so read of the month so far. I loved how Raine tried to seduce Torin, that was a lot of fun. I hated Eirik being a douche again, but, unlike the previous book, here I supported him totally. I like Torin struggling with his whole:  I'm-a-good- faithful-Valkyrie-and-I-am-not-breaking-rules-for-a-mortal attitude. Sorry for such a long word, but that was really it.

I loved Raine, because she is a faithful friend, she would even suspect her boyfriend aka Torin but not Cora, and that's a good  feature, even though it nearly destroyed her and her family, still, it is a feature we all should have. I wanted seriously to slap Torin, when he tells Raine: "after the game I kissed Kicker, then Amber.... but I didn't feel anything, I needed this". Really Torin, way to say that to a girl you just kissed.

And now discussing the villain of this particular book Maniila aka fake Cora, aka Cora who was with us during the whole book. I hated Maniila in the first book, actually I didn't because I didn't get to know her very well, and I still didn't get to know her well in this book too. Only that she is one self-conscious bitch, but that was writen black on white in the book, nothing more. And while every my frind finds it idiotic, but I sometimes sympathise to villains, I know it's stupid sometimes, but I do think that they have much more interesting stories, and they the choices they make to become villains. And here I was disappointed not to have at least a background story why Maliina did all of that, the word Jealousy doesn't cover it all, there had to be something else too, or I am just too into knowing villains better.

I recommend this book to everybody, because it really is easy to read, and interesting, and I actually didn't tell you all secrets, or I hope I didn't. And I am actually already waiting for the third or 2.5 book called Grimnirs. So, Happy Reading! :)) hope you like it, and don't forget to tell me what you think.

Mortal Instruments: City of Bones Movie VS Book

First we had a book which competed with Harry Potter in selling, and we were anticipating the movie. I did, I don't know if you did or not. I had not that big hopes, funny right? I knew that nothing would be as awesome as the book was no, why expecting much, if you can expect not much and be blown??

I went to see the movie yesterday, and was blown. first because it was really awesome. Not all but some of the characters lived up to their book characters. Even though Lily Collins was way hotter than Isabel, while Izabel has to be the most gorgeous girl, and in trailers I didn't like Lily playing Clary, I took my words back, when I saw her act. she was perfect to be Clary. Jace, I did see him differently, but Jaime Campbell played him well, really well. And OMG Izzy's wip, that was super awesome. But even though I liked the movie, I was disappointed in some ways, so I will just make a list of them:
  1. Who has read in Cassie's book that Valentine had dark hair?? It was even underlined that he had BLOND HAIR!!!!!!
  2. Izabel, the most gorgeous girl, was not in the movie, I don't understand, how couldn't they find a better Isabel, no offence to the actress.
  3. Alec, seriously??? That was Alec? He was really nothing to look at.
  4. Magnus Bane, where were the BLUE LIGHTS???? when he was healing Alec???
  5. Why did they really destroyed Institute? WTH??? The battle had to be in a ruined factory or something.
  6. I, don't remeber it correctly or didn't Valentine get away with a Mortal Cup??? That was the worst thing in the book.
  7. I was so for Simon going rat. and where was that???? And WTH were doing Alec and Izzy in the hotel Dumort???
  8. Where were Bikes working on demon energy? Jace nearly killed himself and Clary with one.
  9. It was Clary who killed the demon at her house, not Jace, that's why he was so interested in her (minus that she could see him)
  10. And the last, it was Simon who used the bow and arrow and made the greater demon ( madam Dorothea) go to his dimension.

Despite this statements, and that nearly the whole hall killed me during the movie, because I and one boy were making comments, like that's not true and so on. But still I enjoyed the movie very much. and am looking forward watching the second one, but in the meantime I will be reading again the series and waiting for May to read the 6th and final book City of Heavenly Fire.

Review : Runes by Ednah Walters (Runes #1)

Summary (from Goodreads)

Title:  Runes

Author:  Ednah Walters

Publication Date:  8th June 2013

Publisher:  Firetrail Publishing

Goodreads - Amazon

Summary:

Seventeen-year-old Raine Cooper has enough on her plate dealing with her father’s disappearance, her mother’s erratic behavior and the possibility of her boyfriend relocating. The last thing she needs is Torin St. James—a mysterious new neighbor with a wicked smile and uncanny way of reading her.

Raine is drawn to Torin’s dark sexiness against her better judgment, until he saves her life with weird marks and she realizes he is different. But by healing her, Torin changes something inside Raine. Now she can’t stop thinking about him. Half the time, she’s not sure whether to fall into his arms or run.

Scared, she sets out to find out what Torin is. But the closer she gets to the truth the more she uncovers something sinister about Torin. What Torin is goes back to an ancient mythology and Raine is somehow part of it. Not only are she and her friends in danger, she must choose a side, but the wrong choice will cost Raine her life

My Thoughts:

I haven't read much books based on North Mythology. The first one was Valkyrie Rising by Ingrid Paulson. We see more books based on Greek mythology. And I have to say the truth, I haven't read much about then North mythology, the only things I knew is that Odin was like Zeus, there was Thor and of course Loki, and that's all. Guess from which movie I have learnt that xD :))

Kill me, but I love where there is a hot, arrogant and crazy in love bad boy as a main character. And Torin St. James is just this guy. He is immortal, he is a jerk, arrogant, "hotness perfection" and of course deeply in love with the main girl character Raine Cooper. Raine is an average teenager, she is struggling to with her father's mystical disappearance, her mother talking to a mirror, her best friend going abroad, and a of course a new hot neighbour, who drives her crazy.

I loved Torin, not only because he is plain awesome, but because he wanted to sacrifice everything for Raine, and how he drove her crazy, with all his secrets, and his touches. I was laughing out loud at their bickering's, and how his touch made Raine shiver. It was really awesome to read about.

On the other hand I hated Eirik, yes, he was awesome boyfriend, but, seriously he only kissed Raine when she was in a dress, where was he before that??? Dah, and every time he kissed her to make his point to Torin, what a sick person!

And the best character of course was Raine, I still can't choose whom to give first place her or Torin. But I enjoyed Raine, and it even didn't drive me crazy that he always cried and, how she was describing Torin's affection. She gave everything it's own. I was on her side ( which is rare I was only once a girl's side, but that's not the point now) and I really did understand her feelings. And throughout the book I supported her in her every decision, maybe not all,  I did want her to tell her true feelings to Eirik regarding Torin. And while I sometimes find main girl characters too whiny and their courage really exaggerated, with Raine I had no problem believing that she would stood up to even Odin to save her friends, and Norms are way worse.

I loved the book, and am already reading the second book, and soon will tell you, how she will manage new difficulties on her way. The book is really worth reading, and I recommend it to everyone. If not the great description of the romance between the characters, the book is really easy to read, and is very funny. And will make you crave to know more about North Mythology. Happy Reading Everyone!!!! :))

Review : Carrier of the Mark by Leigh Fallon (Carrier #1)

Summary (from Goodreads)

Title:  Carrier of the Mark

Author:  Leigh Fallon

Publication Date:  4th October 2011

Publisher:  HarperTeen

Goodreads - Amazon - Barnes & Noble

Summary:

Their love was meant to be.

When Megan Rosenberg moves to Ireland, everything in her life seems to fall into place. After growing up in America, she's surprised to find herself feeling at home in her new school. She connects with a group of friends, and she is instantly drawn to darkly handsome Adam DeRÍs.

But Megan is about to discover that her feelings for Adam are tied to a fate that was sealed long ago—and that the passion and power that brought them together could be their ultimate destruction.

My Thoughts:

Nature elements? I mean how cool is that? That's what I thought when I came across this book. I read so many bad reviews about it that I was really interested why so few people liked the book, so I gave it a try. Most of the people who didn't like the book, were saying that it was too much like Twilight. I am not a big fan of Twilight, but I don't really remember Bella having any special powers like Megan has.

Yes, I too found many similarities while reading Carrier of the Mark, mainly it was their dialogues and the little things in the plot. But I can't say that the book is that bad and just a copy of Twilight. I actually enjoyed it, and even read the second book, and a, waiting mow for the third one.

I liked the characters, all of them. Megan was not some helpless girl, and  Adam Was not a sulking idiot, he was actually quite good to read about. But still while I prefer reading about bad boys, he was not that bad. And I was seriously laughing when I read that Megan and Adam can't be together because if she had a baby, the world will go Ka-BOOM, but please they are 17!!! They are not idiots, to have babies right now!!!! That was the most annoying part in the book.

The writing wasn't that bad, and even if the author is a real Stepheny Mayer fan, so what?? She wrote a normal book, even a good one. Which was good to read, and took your mind for some time from the problems. Even though I found sometimes hard to read it, still I was happy I gave it a try. So who knows, maybe you will also like it. So happy reading!! :))

Review : Unearthly by Cynthia Hand (Unearthly # 1)

 Summary (from Goodreads)

 Title:  Unearthly

 Author:  Cynthia Hand

 Publication Date:  4th January 2011

 Publisher:  HarperTeen

 Goodreads - Amazon - Barnes & Noble

Summary:

In the beginning, there's a boy standing in the trees . . . .
Clara Gardner has recently learned that she's part angel. Having angel blood run through her veins not only makes her smarter, stronger, and faster than humans (a word, she realizes, that no longer applies to her), but it means she has a purpose, something she was put on this earth to do. Figuring out what that is, though, isn't easy.

Her visions of a raging forest fire and an alluring stranger lead her to a new school in a new town. When she meets Christian, who turns out to be the boy of her dreams (literally), everything seems to fall into place and out of place at the same time. Because there's another guy, Tucker, who appeals to Clara's less angelic side.

As Clara tries to find her way in a world she no longer understands, she encounters unseen dangers and choices she never thought she'd have to make between honesty and deceit, love and duty, good and evil. When the fire from her vision finally ignites, will Clara be ready to face her destiny?

Unearthly is a moving tale of love and fate, and the struggle between following the rules and following your heart

My Thoughts:

My expectations were not high, after reading Fallen by Lauren Kate, Cassandra Clare's TMI and TID series, Wendy Higgins Sweet Evil and other books about Nephilim,  I knew already about them, so I didn't think I would be that much into the book. But I still gave the book a try, not am so happy about it. Because, not it's one of my favourite books.

The books is about an angelblood - Clara Gardner. Every angelblood has a purpuse on this earth. She sees visons of a boy standing in the forest during fire, and she believes she has to save him. She moves to a new town to find the boy in her dreams and meets Christian who literally is the boy from her dream, and now she has to put all her visions together. But nothing is always as it seems, to fulfill her purpose she has to choose between her love and following the rules.

Clara Gardner, the main character is a really kind, shy, friendly, and stubborn girl or should i same a quarter angel? I loved her from the beginning of the book. She knew what she had to do, and she was really focused on her purpose, before the summer came, and she was left alone for her birthday, and she fell in love with the wrong person. She fell in love with Tucker Avery, the guy who was lent to her by his sister aka Clara's best friend. My favourite part of the book begins from Clara's birthday. I love how her and Tucker's friendship grows, how thay couldn't stand each other in the beginning. And how they fell in love. The barn scene when Tucker kisses Clara is one of the most fascinating ones. I couldn't help myself and was crying.

Tucker Avery first a super jerk but after the sweetest guy ever. He really loved her, because if not he wouldn't have understood everything that Clara had told him, and he wouldn't have made the choice of letting her go, which was the heartbreaking choice. But Tucker was Tucker and he knew that he was a distraction for her, and he knew thag you have to set free those you love most.

Jeffrey, Clara's brother, that little brat, why couldn't he tell Clara about his purpose? What was wrong with him, She also had to move and leave behind her friends, but no, he has to be a total brat about that. And if he had told her about his purpose nonw of their misunderstanding would have followed. They would have fulfilled their purposes. But because of him, Clara was between choices and she chose love  and Tucker, and blew her purpose. I can't say much about Christian, because i didn't like him that much. And I wanted to strangle Clara's mother so many times I lost count.

I loved the book, because it was a breathtaking love story. A story of choices, and a story which make you think about your purpose on earth, because we also have our purposes on earth, but unlike Clara we have to figure them out without any visions. We will also be at the choice of following our heart or the rules, and we have to make the right choices, because the choices we make define us. I began reading the book really sceptical, but I fell in love with characters at leats some of them:)) and that was the best. The book is a definately to read one, but maybe, you won't like it as much as I did, but I hope everyone likes a good love story. So just find some time in your daily shedule and read this book. :)) and of course tell me what you thought about it :))

Review: The Rise of Hotel Dumort by Cassandra Clare ( Bane Chronicle # 5 )

Summary (from Goodreads)

Title: The Rise of the Hotel Dumort

Author: Cassandra Clare

Publication Date: 20th August 2013

Publisher: Margaret K. McElderry Books

Goodreads - Amazon - Barnes & Noble

Summary:

In 1920s Manhattan, Magnus Bane hobnobs with the elite at a glamorous Jazz Age hotspot.

The immortal Magnus Bane is making the most of his time in the Roaring Twenties: He's settled into New York society and is thriving among the fashionable jazz set. And there is nowhere better to see and be seen than the glamorous Hotel Dumort, a glittering new addition to the Manhattan landscape. But a different type of glamour may be at play...

Personal Thoughts:

While reading The Mortal Instruments series, I was always interested what really happened to hotel Dumort, why was is so shabby, and its habitats were Vampires. Though I had really high hopes on this novel, unfortunately it was the worst so far. I like Magnus Bane, and was really looking forward to reading stories about him, because in some ways they tell us something about characters and events from TMI and TID like #3 and #4 novel in Bane Chronicles. But even though I like Magnus, like his style of living, somehow, this particular novel didn't get to me. Yes, I read it in like 30 minutes, but the 1/3 of it was how Magnus was having his parties, and the point of the novel, I mean telling us more about Hotel Dumort was in 2-3 pages max. Yes, we know Magnus is super cool, and WOW he closed the portal to the void, but really, the Rise of the hotel and the downfall was in like max 1 hour? That's really uninteresting. And I really like how Cassandra Clare writes, but somehow she is really not doing the best of her on this short stories. I really can read both Mortal Instruments and Infernal Devices series non stop, and I think I have read them about 7 times and still find something new. But not with this short stories.  So, to cut it short, I didn't like the story that much, but who know maybe you would :))

Book Review : Revived by Cat Patrick

Summary ( from Goodreads )

Title: Revived

Author: Cat Patrick

Publication Date: 8th May 2012

Publisher: Little, Brown Books for Young Readers

Goodreads - Amazon - Barnes & Noble

Summary:

It started with a bus crash.
Daisy Appleby was a little girl when it happened, and she barely remembers the accident or being brought back to life. At that moment, though, she became one of the first subjects in a covert government program that tests a drug called Revive.
Now fifteen, Daisy has died and been Revived five times. Each death means a new name, a new city, a new identity. The only constant in Daisy's life is constant change.
Then Daisy meets Matt and Audrey McKean, charismatic siblings who quickly become her first real friends. But if she's ever to have a normal life, Daisy must escape from an experiment that's much larger--and more sinister--than she ever imagined.
From its striking first chapter to its emotionally charged ending, Cat Patrick's Revived is a riveting story about what happens when life and death collide.

Personal Thoughts:

I actually like Cat Patrick's woks. The first book of hers I read was " The Originals ", and I seriously liked it. After I read Forgotten, and after that I came across her second book Revived. The plot was interesting, really who wouldn't be intrigued by a drug which can return you from the dead? Unfortunately my expectations were disappointed. I thought it will be as thrilling as Originals, but sorry...

So, the book, gives us a story of Daisy Appleby, who was killed in a bus crash, and was brought from the dead by a drug called Revive. After that she was revived 5 times. After her 5th revive, she goes to a new city and meets there Matt and Audrey McKean, who become her first real friends. But soon Daisy's life will change, and what will she do about it?...

As for characters, Daisy, was a Okay character, nothing special, and really, why the hell did she go drinking with Wade? That was super idiotic. I didn't like her character that much, and was really disaponted in that. As for her love interest Matt, jeez, he seriously was an idiot! And when he asks Daisy to steal Revive, Brat! I do understand him that his sister is dying, but seriously, he was told so many times by daisy that the drug won't help her, but no, he has to put Daisy in an uncomfortable situation, and what after, he was like a sulking idiot now even talking to Daisy, total idiot.

The only character which I really liked was Audrey. She was the best, even after her death, she tried to link her brother and Daisy, and that was the best quality I think she possesed. She loved her brother, and I do think she loved Daisy too. And I do really think that even if Daisy told her about Revive, she wouldn't be like her brother, complaining that Revive can't help her. I think like some cancer patients, she came to terms that it was her time, she knew it wasn't fair, but she still came to terms, and that what I liked about her.

Actually, the plot is interesting from time to time, but the writing and characters were really poorly described. I was always into Cat's books, but not this time, I doubt I will be able to read the book again. The book lacked action. While reading I was like: now I'll see some action, okay, now I'll see. It was frustrating, everything was going for this whole revealing God's true intentions, and Bam, we don't even get to read how he and his daughter are captured. We just jump to Daisy being in the hospital, and Mason telling her that God and Jesus aka Cassie are captured and there will be trial and all that jazz. It was awfully uninteresting, and was really hard to read. But that's my opinion, who knows maybe you will like the book. :)) I will be happy, if you tell me what you thought about the book. Thanx :))

Review : Opal by Jennifer, L. Armentrout (Lux # 3)

Summary ( from Goodreads )

Title: Opal

Author: Jennifer, L. Armentrout

Publication Date: 11th December 2012

Publisher: Entagled Teen

Goodreads - Amazon - Barnes & Noble

Summary:

No one is like Daemon Black.

When he set out to prove his feelings for me, he wasn’t fooling around. Doubting him isn’t something I’ll do again, and now that we’ve made it through the rough patches, well... There’s a lot of spontaneous combustion going on.

But even he can’t protect his family from the danger of trying to free those they love.

After everything, I’m no longer the same Katy. I’m different... And I’m not sure what that will mean in the end. When each step we take in discovering the truth puts us in the path of the secret organization responsible for torturing and testing hybrids, the more I realize there is no end to what I’m capable of. The death of someone close still lingers, help comes from the most unlikely source, and friends will become the deadliest of enemies, but we won’t turn back. Even if the outcome will shatter our worlds forever.

Together we’re stronger... and they know it.

Personal Thoughts:

I was reading non-stop Lux series. I mean, I began Shadows and finished Opal in 3 days. And now I am waiting for Origin which will be out on 27th August.
For me Jennifer, L. Armentrout is a really interesting reader. I have read Covenant series and now Lux and also a novel Cursed. I like how she writes, and am always sucked into the book. I was really eager to read Opal, because Katy and Daemon getting together? That is what you have to see, after two books of bickering, being at each others throtes. Hmm... that has to be interesting. And my expectations were really rewarded, because seeing Katy and Daemon together was really nice. But to say the truth I loved their fights very much, and they still bicker sometimes during the book.
Katy was not my top best female main character, but throughout Opal, I got used to like her, even though I really adored her for her wit in Obsedian. But now she was always like: " OMG, Daemon is my Boyfriend, I can't believe it, I have to cry". I seriously wanted to stangle her, in those moments. But still she is a good role model, for being a good friend, and also for her self-sacrificing for Dawson and Bethany. ( yeah they both are alive)
My one of the favourite male characters Daemon Black. His ego was always annoying throoghout the books, and I was like when will he 'fess up, and tell Katy that he loves her? And seriously, he has the bst timing for telling her that just when they were separated, but really that was a little bit romantic. even though I was used to self-absorbed Daemon, in Opal I got to know another side of him, a more romantic side, and it suits him really much. So I am really waiting for a book from his point of view ( I think origin will be from his side), but anyway, those of you who loved Daemon, will see his new side, and I think you will like it. Mark it that he never forgets his Bad Boy Status.
As for Blake, I seriously dod't think I hated the dude, but come on, really??? Abandoning them just when they were out of the facility? That is so low. And I just wish somebody kill him, no matter whome, just kill him. I was like doesn't he like Katy? I thought so, it was he who climbed into her bed, seriously dude, what the hell? First you confess your love or something like that, and then you just anabdon Katy and others, and because of you she's now in a awfull condition? Bravo!!! I was always like he was desparate, and okay, I will forgive him on a yota, but this, this was just the last drop.
Dee. I loved Dee, she was the best friend for Katy, and okay, her Boyfrind died, but it wasn't Katy's fault, come on, why blame her? And bacome so distant? Why not to just sit down, chat? But no, she has to become a bitch like Ash.
To sum up, I liked the book, it had many interesting sides. Getting to know new Daemon and new Katy. The book sucked me in and I couldn't get away from it. And I am too happy that the 4th book will be out in just 6 more days. So I am in serious waiting mode. I myself like J. L. Armentrout's books, just give it a hit, and I do think you will also like it. But who knows? :))

Book Review: Of Poseidon by Anna Banks (Syrena Legacy #1)

Summary (from Goodreads)

Title: Of Poseidon

Author: Anna Banks

Publication Date: 22nd May 2012

Publisher: Feiwel & Friends

Goodreads - Amazon - Barnes & Noble

 Summary:

Galen is the prince of the Syrena, sent to land to find a girl he's heard can communicate with fish. Emma is on vacation at the beach. When she runs into Galen—literally, ouch!—both teens sense a connection. But it will take several encounters, including a deadly one with a shark, for Galen to be convinced of Emma's gifts. Now, if he can only convince Emma that she holds the key to his kingdom...

Told from both Emma and Galen's points of view, here is a fish-out-of-water story that sparkles with intrigue, humor, and waves of romance.

Personal Thoughts:

I was out of my books when I found this one. I was really intrigued on the whole mermaid theme, because I myself haven't read anything about mermaids. I read some reviews on Goodreads, some people really liked it and some really hated it, so I thought why not to give it a hit?

The books is told from 2 different point of views, though I thought it was more like from Emma's point of view and author's who was just telling Galen's ideas from the 3rd person ( and basically it had to be just plain Galen's point of view, that would have been so much more interesting). I didn't like that very much, I mean, if you ( author) want to tell it from the 3rd person, just write the whole book like that why jump from 1st person ( Emma) to you? The book is about a teen - Emma who's best friend dies in a shark attack, and who meets a young man - Galen, who is a prince of Syrena ( he is a merman ) and she finds out that she also is a Syrena. And now Galen has to convince Emma to fulfill some duties to his world.

The main Character Emma, is nice, she is a good friend. She is not that bitchy and whiny, which I liked about her. I understood her pain when her best friend Chloe died, and I wasn't all that judgemental why was he so out of tune. I liked how Emma was becoming "new Emma".  How she was falling for Galen. She is a really good, kind and just plain good character, nothing extaordinary, which would have made me adore her, but, she still was a good character.
Emma's love interes Galen. Understanding him was a real challenge, and everytime I was reading from "his side" I was always like please just skip it, and let's see how's Emma. All his secrecy, all his : " I think I'm falling for Emma, blah blah...." I just wanted to kill myself.  Seriously, just tell her the truth and get it over with, but now, he has to be keeping secrets, and then they have to shout at each other, dah...
As for secondary characters like Ryana ( Galen's sister),  Toraf  (Rayana's mate ) Rachel ( Galen's assistent/ex-mafia/"mom" ) and of course Emma's mother. All of them are good described, for me there was not extra information about them, everything was just to the point. But give it to Anna, the cliffhanger with which she ended the first book, was really good, and made me jump right into the second one.

To say the truth, I didn't have real big expectations on this book, and even though the book was easy to read, and I really got lost into it, after maybe 2-3 days I totaly forgot everything, not everything but the majority. Like I even now remember some of the quotes form the books, which I have read years ago, but nothing from of Poseidon. But, the book is really worth a try, so if you are a fan of mermaids, or never read about them, give of Poseidon a try, maybe you will like it more then I did. :))
