Book Review: A Kingdom of Flesh and Fire by Jennifer L. Armentrout (Blood and Ash #2)

A Kingdom of Flesh and Fire (Blood and Ash, #2)A Kingdom of Flesh and Fire by Jennifer L. Armentrout
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Do you know that feeling when you were expecting something epic, and you got it, but you still screamed something in the line of WHAT THE HELL JUST HAPPENED??

Yes, this is exactly what happened at the end of the book. Honestly, I was expecting something similar to Poppy being absolutely amazing and Chosen, but hell if I wasn't shocked, woke up my boyfriend from his nap with my screaming (yes I was screaming at my iPad).

So, let's dive into the book!

I LOVED it. yes, there were moments when I wanted to scream at the characters and with some other characters, especially Daddy Casteel was a tad bit annoying, and I was so down for the action between Poppy, Casteel and Kieran. So yes, book 3 I'm so waiting for a threesome (doubt I'll get it, but pretty please I need that action). But as they say, hope dies last!

So, shall we start with dissing Casteel? Hell, the man is a specimen that you just want to have, but man has secrets and issues a mile long! The issue is that while you kind of hate on him for keeping way too many things from Poppy, you still understand his reasons. (You can't stay mad at morally grey hot characters!).

My favourite in the book was Kieran, the Wolven was that fun and charming person that Poppy needed and I also needed to read about. Him just dropping vague hints about what was going on between Casteel and Poppy was both fun to read about but also frustrating!

The pretend game that Casteel and Poppy were playing was driving me soo crazy, if I wasn't reading on my iPad, I would have thrown the book across the room way too many times! (Yes, I was that mad). But hell (view spoiler).

So, the last thing, shall we just talk about the ungrateful Wolven who I want to murder!!!! Let's not talk names right now, but dude!!!! WTF is wrong with you, she saved you, healed you and that's how you repay her? by betraying her? Yes, I was way too frustrated by the end of the book, and on edge, and that one specific wolven just tipped the scale!

So, to sum up my thoughts, the book was great, and I can't wait to start the third one, plus I need to read that bonus scene from Casteel's POV!

XOXO

Katie
