~ Review ~

I received the ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. I also received the first book as part of me being able to review this one, so you can check my review here -> Triple Threat

If you read my review of Triple Threat (the first book in the duet), you'd know that I was in love with Sparrow even before I got to meet Sully and Scout. And as I've said previously, I always fall in love with the psycho in the RH novels. so I thought this time would be different. But nope, as usual, I fell in love hard, very very hard with our resident psycho - Scout.

I mean honestly, what can you not love about the guy? He's just perfect! He's psychotic, but the man who loves cats from hell as well as can subdue the little tyrant (Della) isn't he just perfect? And what if he is a bit crazy (okay, a lot crazy), who doesn't need a bit of craziness when the man can do you so good!

But I think I'm getting sidetracked here. Did I love the book? Hell yes! Am I still on a high after finishing it? Totally! Will I be able to start a new book right away? Nope, not in a million years! Why? Because this book was everything I needed. Action, such good d!ck action! But let's talk about character development!

Landry - our queen, yes the queen was sooo good! She was thrust into a new prison (from her father to three men who lied to her), and she handled them too well! That moment when she straight away told them about the rules! Girl! that's how you roll! and I don't think I should talk about this right now, but hell if you're not going to love the ending! I loved her standing up for herself, it was way overdue.

Sully and Sparrow, now I loved Sparrow in book one, but he was pissing me off way too much in this one. And Sully, well, he was never my favourite, but he was the best with dealing with Della (until someone else swoops in and starts making her pancakes).

So to wrap it up, I loved the book, and hell if that cover is not amazing. And if you think smut with 3 brothers and one girl is not for you, trust me you'll love it. The plot, the pacing, the character development and spice! Spice was really good! So grab the copy of the first book, because this one's coming out on 29th March 2022!

XOXO

Katie

Book Review: Triple Threat by K. Webster (Deception Duet #1)

Triple Threat (Deception Duet, #1)Triple Threat by K. Webster
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

When I finished this book I was sure of one thing, I would never be able to explain what I just read to my boyfriend. But I did, and his expression was so worth it. But let's start from the beginning because I had to share my thoughts because I devoured the book overnight, and now I'm just there waiting for the second one to come out.

Let's just say, that I usually go for the psychos in the RH but this time, Scout was a second runner up. I was way too in love with Sparrow (and that's before the Sully or Scout were introduced together with Landry). His interactions with Landry are everything to die for! The sass, the innuendos and the action! Hell! I was swooning and fangirling so much!

Landry is a great character. The old tortured soul in the body of an 18-year-old, with so many responsibilities and so little freedom. She's a character that you just can't not love. And her personality changes, her fear of her father it's so amazingly written that you get transported there in the room with her!

In the beginning, I wasn't sure whether I would be okay with an idea of 3 brothers and one girl, now I am just waiting for the full-on action! Because hell if I'll be satisfied with Landry choosing only one of the triplets!

So I'm off to the wait for the second book because that cliffhanger is utterly inappropriate!

Book Review: A Kingdom of Flesh and Fire by Jennifer L. Armentrout (Blood and Ash #2)

A Kingdom of Flesh and Fire (Blood and Ash, #2)A Kingdom of Flesh and Fire by Jennifer L. Armentrout
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Do you know that feeling when you were expecting something epic, and you got it, but you still screamed something in the line of WHAT THE HELL JUST HAPPENED??

Yes, this is exactly what happened at the end of the book. Honestly, I was expecting something similar to Poppy being absolutely amazing and Chosen, but hell if I wasn't shocked, woke up my boyfriend from his nap with my screaming (yes I was screaming at my iPad).

So, let's dive into the book!

I LOVED it. yes, there were moments when I wanted to scream at the characters and with some other characters, especially Daddy Casteel was a tad bit annoying, and I was so down for the action between Poppy, Casteel and Kieran. So yes, book 3 I'm so waiting for a threesome (doubt I'll get it, but pretty please I need that action). But as they say, hope dies last!

So, shall we start with dissing Casteel? Hell, the man is a specimen that you just want to have, but man has secrets and issues a mile long! The issue is that while you kind of hate on him for keeping way too many things from Poppy, you still understand his reasons. (You can't stay mad at morally grey hot characters!).

My favourite in the book was Kieran, the Wolven was that fun and charming person that Poppy needed and I also needed to read about. Him just dropping vague hints about what was going on between Casteel and Poppy was both fun to read about but also frustrating!

The pretend game that Casteel and Poppy were playing was driving me soo crazy, if I wasn't reading on my iPad, I would have thrown the book across the room way too many times! (Yes, I was that mad). But hell (view spoiler).

So, the last thing, shall we just talk about the ungrateful Wolven who I want to murder!!!! Let's not talk names right now, but dude!!!! WTF is wrong with you, she saved you, healed you and that's how you repay her? by betraying her? Yes, I was way too frustrated by the end of the book, and on edge, and that one specific wolven just tipped the scale!

So, to sum up my thoughts, the book was great, and I can't wait to start the third one, plus I need to read that bonus scene from Casteel's POV!

Book Review: The Immortal Rules by Julie Kagawa (The Blood of Eden #1)

The Immortal Rules (Blood of Eden, #1)The Immortal Rules by Julie Kagawa
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

From my review archives:

Yes, you might be wondering if I’m once again in my vampire fan stage, but to answer your and even my parents’ question, no, I’m not. I have read too many vampire books in those days and really thought that nothing would impress m anymore. Basically, I just wanted to read something bloody and what s better than a pure vampire book that has been on my to-read list for nearly 3 years. I gave it a try…

It’s a really nice book if you’re new to vampires, however, if you’re a near expert as I am, it might not give you anything new. what I was enjoying in the book was the idea of the Virus. yes it’s pretty cliche, but come on, who doesn’t like the whole apocalyptical world? Theme? I can say, that I truly enjoy it. it’s leek a guide of what to do and don’t’s. The character that I loved the most was Kanin. True, he didn’t appear much and mostly he was silent, but he kind of reminded me of raise from noblesse. true, he’s not as all-powerful and hot, but his “love” for humans was what made me think of Rai. (For those who have no idea what Noblesse is, it’s a Korean webtoon, you should really read it, it’s awesome!). Okay, back to the review. Allie is a great character and you’ll love her lots. You’ll question her choice of becoming a vampire, but only in the first second, afterwards, you’ll just try to understand all her choice.

One thing that I really liked and enjoyed in the book was the description of the vampires. In short Kanin’s definition of war was happening to Allie. Who I really wanted to smack and kill was Stick, he frustrated and annoyed me too much. You’ll know why when you read the book, but the way he relayed Allie was too cowardly. To m disappointment, there were no vivid bloodshed. there’s some drama, but nothing too shocking, well, for me that is. Are you ready to set on the journey to become a vampire and look for a mystical place called - Eden? Are you up for a small dosage of vampire x human romance? I’m still rooting for Karin, I really want to know how the romance plot will go in that direction and will it ever? If Allie stays with Zeke it will surely be too cliche, but we’ll see what’s going to happen in the next books. Enjoy it to your fullest and don’t forget to share your thoughts below! Stay tuned for more reviews as well as promos. Don’t miss your next favourite book or manga! Happy reading!

Book Review: Hourglass by Myra McEntire (Hourglass #1)

Hourglass (Hourglass, #1)Hourglass by Myra McEntire
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I haven’t had a time travel book in ages. I believe the last one was by Helen Douglas, I was anticipating pretty much everything except what I got. the idea of seeing the past and future was a really great idea. In the very beginning, I really thought that the book was about ghosts rather than a time travelling one.

To say the truth I wanted to write quite a number of things, but now, that I finally got to my notepad I can’t put them on paper. The is quite frustrating, But let me still try. I liked the book quite a lot. It was unique in its own way and I really want to know what is going to happen next. Are you up to meet fantastic characters such as Emerson and Michael? Trust me, you’ll love Rm, she’s one of those female characters that have a knack for being an awesome lead. Her sarcastic nature, her jokes and the best part is when she wants to seduce Michael and puts on full make up and armour. It's too fun, but also entertaining.

What shocked me the most were the revelations at the end of the book. Trust me you’ll be as shocked as I was. Are you ready to change the past? No worries, the future will not be affected a lot… To know how’s that possible, you’ll have to read the book very, very carefully! There are lots of physics teams, so don’t be lost! Get to know Em and Michael and many other fantastic characters. Enjoy it to its fullest and don’t forget to share your thoughts below! Stay tuned for more reviews as well as promos. Don’t miss your next favourite book or mag! Happy reading! I’m off to read the second book!

Book Review: First Comes Blood by Lilith Vincent (Promised in Blood #1)

First Comes Blood (Promised in Blood, #1)First Comes Blood by Lilith Vincent
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

What do you usually need to get into a book? Most probably a good cover (always helps, even if they say Never Judge a Book by its cover), and of course a recommendation. For me it was actually a random tiktok on my for you page with a description of the scene, which hooked me faster than anything possible. And if you ask what scene it was, it was actually from the third book.

I literally devoured this book in a day, actually not even one day, but rather about 3 hours maybe even less. Why? Because it was that good. In the beginning, I was confused, a bit disoriented, but hell, 3 chapters in and I was so into the book.

Let's just say that I thought I knew what I was getting into when I started the book. I've been reading mafia romance back during my blogging age, but I never thought that the dark mafia would have evolved like that in the 3 years that I missed doing anything for my blog. Dark romance became even darker, and hell if I'm not in love with it!

Chiara is absolutely amazing character. Yes, she does have some flaws (which get straightened out in the next books), but honestly though I was enamoured with her. She, a 17-year old that has to open up her eyes on her birthday to the world that she actually lives in, and not in a good way. But what happened to her on her birthday just made her stronger, and that journey to become the strong queen that she was meant to be is absolutely fantastic!

But shall we talk about the 4 men that are there to make Chiara's life hell in the beginning, but they are also the ones that you just know you will love! Each of them has a different personality, and in the beginning, you probably will hate all of them, or at least you'll definitely hate Lorenzo (but trust me he'll become your favourite!) In the first book, we get to know more about Salvatore, and truthfully he wasn't my favourite, even after knowing everything.

So even with all his psychotic nature, Lorenzo is still my favourite, why? Because he knows what he wants and he is there to get it!

The first book takes us on a whirlwind of a journey, it foreshadows the mystery that has yet to be unveiled, and the promise of fantastic sex scenes to come. with All of the guys! Because Lilith Vincent is there to make our life sooo good! She's there to introduce to us the characters that are broken, but that will be there to heal each other. It just takes time, and you just want to be part of that journey!

The description of the scenes, the characters and the pacing. you get hooked as soon as Salvatore kisses Chiara on her birthday and Lorenzo does a bit more on her birthday! So are you ready for the ride of your life? Because you definitely need to buckle up, as the ride is to be bumpy!

Book Review: Lord of Shadows by Cassandra Clare (The Dark Artifices #2)

Lord of Shadows (The Dark Artifices, #2)Lord of Shadows by Cassandra Clare
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

If you are one of my blog's loyal readers then you know how I found myself reading the Dark Artifices Series. And like the first book, the second one was also purchased just before the holiday and read during my stay in Germany with my family. You could have even seen pictures of me with the book or just the book on my Instagram and blog's facebook page.

Anyway, like always my little brother was doubtful i could finish the book until our 10-day trip was over, much less way before it, which was what happened and I have stuck once again with finding what to read, but like usual I did find something amazing, and you'll soon know about it! However, let me return back to today's pick!

Did I like it? Hell yes! Was it better than the first book! Look at the rating! It was! I was enjoying the development with Mark, Christina and Kieran! Yes, I'm sorry, I'm spoiling this part, but that threesome is what was so interesting to read about! Plus there's another mild threesome coming up, but i won't be telling you about that, without spoiling something absolutely major! What about Emma and Julian? Yeah, they were also good, better than in the first book, but still not there. And btw, I mean that as a couple. Julian as a single character, holy sh*t!!! I had goosebumps every time he talked or I understood that he plots something! He was that ruthless and at the same time fantastic at it!

Oh, and one more character that started making sense was Diana! Yup, you'll be shocked to see the development her character takes, but at the same time it would be like it was meant to be like that. Are you ready to go into Faerie once again? But this time it will be a far more dangerous quest. And just in case i miss saying this, but will we get to know what the hell is going on with Clary and Jace? I mean, if I don't get my happy ending for their story, I'm going to throw a tantrum!

What else did I want to say... Just in case you've read the book and want to know my thoughts on Annabel, I knew she would do something idiotic, and she actually did it! Same with Perfect Diego. And while I'm on that topic, I totally want to confirm my suspicions about that boy Dru met in the Faerie. But as you could have seen, we need to wait until 2019 for that. And while the review might go out closer to that date, while I'm writing it it's summer of 2017, meaning 2 agonizing years of waiting...

I'll go cry some more as I have just reminded myself of that and then maybe write some other reviews! Until then, enjoy today's feature and don't forget to share your thoughts below! Stay tuned for more reviews as well as promos! Don't miss your next favourite book or manga! Happy reading!
