Title:  Freak of Nature

Author:  Julia Crane

Publication Date:  2 February, 2013

Summary:

Donate Body to Science. Check.
When seventeen-year-old Kaitlyn checked the box, she never suspected she’d have her life–and her body–stolen from her. She awakens one day in a secret laboratory to discover that her body is now half-robot and is forced to hide her own secret: that she still has human emotions and a human mind. If the scientists who made her find out, they’ll erase what remains of who she was.

Kaitlyn finds an unlikely ally in Lucas, a handsome, brilliant scientist who can’t get over the guilt he feels knowing she was once a vibrant, beautiful young woman. He never expected a science project to affect him the way she does. As he tries to help her rediscover her past, he finds himself falling for the brave girl struggling to find her place and acceptance between the human and computer worlds.

My Thoughts:

Have you ever asked yourself what makes us humans? Well, my guess and answer would be feelings. And after reading this book my answer has one more proof.

Do you think it is possible to write a code and strip a person of his/her feelings? Well, some of the characters in this book thought it was possible. They thought that is was as easy  as making an upgrade of a machine. But they forgot that Kaitlyn was part machine part human - a cyborg. And no matter how you tried to strip her off her feelings, part f her brain is not metal, and that makes her human.

Feelings... With this word we can say much, and nothing at the same time. In my opinion, they are joy and damnation alltogether of a human. Why so? Sometimes we are so overwhelmed with feelings and we wish they never existed, but it's rare that our wish comes true, and if it does, we understand that we have lost a part of ourselves. Have you read Everneath by Brodi Ashton? The only thing Nikki wanted not to feel, when she got her wish she craved to feel again.

The book is amazing, and is one of those that every teen should read. It is packed with everything, and is really easy to read. Once you begin, you will not want to stop until you reach the end. And the ending leaves us with question about what will happen next. I hope there will be a second book. Happy reding, and enjoy the book. I think you will like it very much. Don't forget to leave comments :))
