Review : Opal by Jennifer, L. Armentrout (Lux # 3)

Summary ( from Goodreads )

Title: Opal

Author: Jennifer, L. Armentrout

Publication Date: 11th December 2012

Publisher: Entagled Teen

Goodreads - Amazon - Barnes & Noble

Summary:

No one is like Daemon Black.

When he set out to prove his feelings for me, he wasn’t fooling around. Doubting him isn’t something I’ll do again, and now that we’ve made it through the rough patches, well... There’s a lot of spontaneous combustion going on.

But even he can’t protect his family from the danger of trying to free those they love.

After everything, I’m no longer the same Katy. I’m different... And I’m not sure what that will mean in the end. When each step we take in discovering the truth puts us in the path of the secret organization responsible for torturing and testing hybrids, the more I realize there is no end to what I’m capable of. The death of someone close still lingers, help comes from the most unlikely source, and friends will become the deadliest of enemies, but we won’t turn back. Even if the outcome will shatter our worlds forever.

Together we’re stronger... and they know it.

Personal Thoughts:

I was reading non-stop Lux series. I mean, I began Shadows and finished Opal in 3 days. And now I am waiting for Origin which will be out on 27th August.
For me Jennifer, L. Armentrout is a really interesting reader. I have read Covenant series and now Lux and also a novel Cursed. I like how she writes, and am always sucked into the book. I was really eager to read Opal, because Katy and Daemon getting together? That is what you have to see, after two books of bickering, being at each others throtes. Hmm... that has to be interesting. And my expectations were really rewarded, because seeing Katy and Daemon together was really nice. But to say the truth I loved their fights very much, and they still bicker sometimes during the book.
Katy was not my top best female main character, but throughout Opal, I got used to like her, even though I really adored her for her wit in Obsedian. But now she was always like: " OMG, Daemon is my Boyfriend, I can't believe it, I have to cry". I seriously wanted to stangle her, in those moments. But still she is a good role model, for being a good friend, and also for her self-sacrificing for Dawson and Bethany. ( yeah they both are alive)
My one of the favourite male characters Daemon Black. His ego was always annoying throoghout the books, and I was like when will he 'fess up, and tell Katy that he loves her? And seriously, he has the bst timing for telling her that just when they were separated, but really that was a little bit romantic. even though I was used to self-absorbed Daemon, in Opal I got to know another side of him, a more romantic side, and it suits him really much. So I am really waiting for a book from his point of view ( I think origin will be from his side), but anyway, those of you who loved Daemon, will see his new side, and I think you will like it. Mark it that he never forgets his Bad Boy Status.
As for Blake, I seriously dod't think I hated the dude, but come on, really??? Abandoning them just when they were out of the facility? That is so low. And I just wish somebody kill him, no matter whome, just kill him. I was like doesn't he like Katy? I thought so, it was he who climbed into her bed, seriously dude, what the hell? First you confess your love or something like that, and then you just anabdon Katy and others, and because of you she's now in a awfull condition? Bravo!!! I was always like he was desparate, and okay, I will forgive him on a yota, but this, this was just the last drop.
Dee. I loved Dee, she was the best friend for Katy, and okay, her Boyfrind died, but it wasn't Katy's fault, come on, why blame her? And bacome so distant? Why not to just sit down, chat? But no, she has to become a bitch like Ash.
To sum up, I liked the book, it had many interesting sides. Getting to know new Daemon and new Katy. The book sucked me in and I couldn't get away from it. And I am too happy that the 4th book will be out in just 6 more days. So I am in serious waiting mode. I myself like J. L. Armentrout's books, just give it a hit, and I do think you will also like it. But who knows? :))
