“Arias is here my lord,” Corbin spit out breathlessly.
“Come Venus,” Riken said already starting for the door.
She didn’t hesitate and all but plastered herself against him. Venus knew to be frightened from Riken’s earlier description of the other Dark Prince. He was enormous, dangerous, cruel. The embodiment of Satan himself. He led a bloodline full of sadist, bloodthirsty vampires and this was the one searching for her. She didn’t want to meet this creature. They rushed out of the office, down a back staircase and towards a back entrance. Venus slammed into Riken when he stopped abruptly. She peered around him to see what was going on and Venus swallowed hard as a warrior filled her vision…one that could only be Arias Hassan.
She gasped, robbed of any breath. Lord, he was beautiful. Tattoos covered his massive arms and bare chest, his head was shaved bald. He was the color of chocolate sand and he emanated power and a call so strong and deep within her, her knees weakened immediately. He had nearly black eyes that started to swirl and twist like a turbulent ocean as soon as he saw her. His guards almost equally massive fanned out around him. It was clear that Riken and his crew were no match for these warriors.
“Come to me,” Arias growled to her.
Venus’ eyes widened as her body listened without hesitation. His command was like a direct line of energy to her chest, pulling her towards him. Riken pulled her against him creating havoc within her. Both of their blood was calling to her but Arias’ was stronger.

He was older than Riken, by nearly three hundred years. Venus unconsciously struggled against Riken’s hold.

“No Venus, don’t leave me.” Riken pleaded.

“Come to me little one,” Arias purred again.

Venus started forward again when she heard the click of a safety being thrown off. She turned her head to the side and watched horrified as Corbin palmed an enormous gun in his hand and fired at Arias.

“No!” she screamed, her power billowing out of her.

Her entire focus was on the path of that bullet. If she failed that bullet would find its way into the Prince’s temple and while it wouldn’t kill him, it would incapacitate him enough for Riken and his men to destroy him by severing his head. She refused to let that happen, no matter how bad that man was in front of her. The bullet dropped to the floor feet from Arias. Venus was breathing hard from the mental exertion that she hadn’t used in over ten years, disbelief and relief flooding her body. Arias’ jaw dropped slightly and his lips parted. He raised his hand to beckon her to him again. But Venus realized too late that it wasn’t to beckon her to him, it was to stop her. Guns exploded around her from both sides, Venus trapped in the middle. She heard Arias’ roar and she heard Riken’s roar. Stop! She screamed in her head, thrusting her arms out. Her mental power that she had hidden and been ashamed of for so long, flooded out of her body, billowing her hair about her head.

Debbie Dee recently moved to southern Idaho with her husband and three children where she is learning how to be a country girl in her favorite pair of blue heels. She adores fairy tales and happy endings, but secretly crushes on the bad guy now and then.

My Review : 

My Thoughts:

I got this book as an author request, and all the thoughts displayed below are only mine...

All of my reader know that I'm into everything paranormal. And it is rare that I read something non-supernatural (classics are classics, for better vocabulary and education) but my leisure reaing always consistes of something paranormal. When I was contacted to do this blog tour and the review, I have just published my blog for what 2 weeks, so I said why not to give it a chance. But my true intentions? I love reading about true love, and second I enjoy history and especially history of BC world. 

When I first read the summary I interpreted it really differently, and I was so releaved in the end of the book that Tiy really understood that she was in love with Amenhotep more then just a friend. But really, you can't imagine for a 14/15 year girl to understand love, when she always knew they were just friends. And it was not only romantic but really amazing story to read. I may sound crazy, but prologue and some scenes from the book really steered my mind that zi have seen or read something like that. But everytime I was near the solution it slided away. But that's not a big deal. 

The story engrosses you with it's simplicity, but it has a true calling of love in it. I don't know what you will read through the lines, but I definately read that sometimes you should give time to understand what love is, and never rush. And you should never force something on somebody, you should just be there and soon enough that person will see the obvious. The book guves us a glimpsle of Egyptian royal life. But don't be fooled. People like Kepi are everywhere, they life in our Bitchy neighbours, or coworkers and they live in those A cliques at our high school or colleges. We will never be free of them, but we have to remember not to fight fire with fire. Because that will be one of our first steps to the downfall.

Debby Dee also discusses the rebellion in her book. and even though we have only a little shade of it, we can really suppose that she wanted to tell us that's it's so unnessasary to have wars, that every country needs each other, that while Nubia wanted freedom it was 99% dependant on Egypt and just with killing Pharaon the matter of their freedom wjouldn't have been seeled. They would have been doomed. I think she wanted to give us something to think about too. Because the more simple the book is the more questions and answers is holds in it. 

I always find my favourite quote in the book and write it down. But this particular one could even be a motto to some people . You wonder what caught my eye? Here you go : "a pessimist is just an optimist with experience." I would love to ask everyone ( actually those who are still reading this review) a question. How many of you are pessimists or optimists? I myself can never put myself into any of that groups. I guess I am a bit too much of a realist to be either one. But what about you? 

While reading this book, you will feel only kind emotions, you will get to knoe how a person can become more solid and of course how a person goes into understanding that he/she is in love. I always love and highlight this particular moments. So far my best moment of self discovery of being in love is still to Clara from Unearthly by Cynthia Hand. And I hope you will love it too. It is not heated or steamy novel like we are all used to noe, but its "lack of heat" has an amazing effect which leaved you whole and desparate to find such love. I hope you will read this book and will like it as much as I did. Enjoy every word of it and don't forget to leave comments!!! Guess I will be off to find the love of my life. Nope, I am just fooling arounf. Happy Reading!!!! But still, I do hope you will find such love on your life... keep looking, it maybe be right near you!!! :))

Book Review : House of Hades by Rick Riordan (Heroes of Olympus #4)

My Thoughts:

I love Percy Jackson Series, will it be Olympians or Heroes of Olympus. Rick is an amazing writer, and after reading Mark of Athena nearly one year ago, and being left at an amazing cliffhanger, I was more than ready to start this one. I got the book nearly in two days after it was published ( guess being a kindle reader has its perks ) but I really tried to prolong the read, why? Because the final book is in another year, and I just couldn't stand that I had to wait so long, but as always my impatience got me, and I finished the book. I had high hopes for it, but what I read was amazing. 

As we all know ( or maybe not all ) The Mark of Athena leaves us with Percy and Annabeth falling in Tartarus, and other Argo II members going to Epirus ( To the Door's of Death ) without them in order to meet them on the other side. It was one of the most perfect, thrilling and of course heartbreaking cliffhangers ever. The Chapters are divided between all characters, though the narrator is still author, I myself don't remember when Rick switched his style to Author Narration, I do remember that the very first book "Percy Jackson and The lightning Thief" was from  Percy's point of view. But this way, we experience them all. And it is really interesting. Some of the secrets will leave you dumbstruck, but you will manage to think straight though. When I read Nico's secret I was speechless but I can't change it and won't. 

Getting to know Annabeth and Percy's journey though Tartarus is something amazing and horrifying all together. You will even meet Tartarus himself, and ever hear of expression there are good Titans and Giants? No? That's bad, because you will meet them, and you will love them ( I am not kidding ). And your heart will break a little bit when you will see that it didn't work out as planned in the beginning. You will see how every character faces his/her fears and if they succseed or not, you will see how some of them develop new powers, sometiems terrifing powers. And you will get a little bit closer to understanding the Prophecy of Seven, and sometimes when you see something the characters don't you will shout and curse them to see it. You will see all the pain and despair which they will encounter on their way. And you will definately agree to Frank when he states an idea of throwing Octavian in the pit. ( No kidding but I have the guy to the core ). 

Mainly what I wanted to say is that you will Love the book, and when you finish it you will be craving for the last one, or maybe that's just me??? But the point is, that it is an amazing work of fiction, and it sucks to from the first page. to prolong the waiting I guess my advice will be to read the 3 previous books, why? It has been so long since I read them that I forgot some of the details. I hope you will enjoy the book as much as I did, and Happy Reading. Don't forget to leave comments. :)))

Hi everyone, 

Hope you had an amazing week, and are planning something amazing for a weekend. Mainly I will be sleeping and doing my homework for the greatest part of the weekend, And also reading. I don't know how I managed it like 4 months ago. My Currntly Reading list Which I call CR and even sometimes TBR was always about 4/5 books, now  it's so big, that I though of a new plan. Even though I find some amazing books, and even though sometimes when they are free I download them, I don't put them on my iPad, why? I make a folder which I called " when you finish THE BOOKS, you can start THEESE" I am serious that's what's its called. I have about 50 more or less books on my tablet which I have to read, and in that folder there is already about 50 other books. I am serious how many books are there???? I am making this LIST where I put all my NOW READING and THEN READING books, so that I have some order. It's chaos.... Anybody with such problems, or is it only me? It's like I find this cool book, I want to read it, then I find another, and my TBR is growing and I still get new books... 

I won't bore you with my problems, the only thing I will say it that have an amazing week, read more. And HAPPY READING!!!!!!

My Thoughts:

Truth and only truth, that's my today's motto. And when I say that I was freakishly amazed by this book, I am not lying. All of my blog readers know that I am not into thrillers, crimes or something like that. Yes, I do love watching such movies, but reading? Never even tried, before this one. And to say the truth when I was contacted by the author, I was astonished. My first reaction was: “oh thank you, but no…” but then I read these words: “just give it a try, maybe you will enjoy it…” And so I did. By the time I was finishing the first part, I didn’t want to put down. It was so interesting.

The books tell us a story of Ellaine Brogan, who wanted to become a Secret Service agent, and she did achieve it. It is a thrilling story, which sucks you into it and doesn’t want to let go. It is so well written that you really see everything in front of your eyes, and I mean everything. I do think that it would have made a really good movie. Tell you what, while reading last pages I really was hoping for not a happy ending. But unfortunately for me it has that awfully good “all American” happy ending. Still the last sentence of the epilogue leaves very much for imagination. And knowing that there are other 3 books upcoming, leaves me thrilled to know what will happen.

My favourite characters of course are Ellaine and Nick. My well respected characters who were bad are Ellaine’s Dad and Giorgio Cattoretti. Those of you who have read the book, know that Ellaine’s dad was stealing from his work in order to support his daughter’s education, so he is what I call a bad guy with actually genuine thoughts. While Giorgio is skin to bone bad. And why do I still respect him? Well Cattoretti wanted to be rich and he worked hard to achieve his goal, he wanted to be respected and feared but still be in the shadows? Well he did get it, how? But what I respect about him, maybe not respect but admire, is that he wanted something and he made everything to get it. It’s also like Ellaine, but his dreams were broader and much more advance.

Writing style… What can I say, I was amazed by it. You really will not want to put the book down. Though some scenes were too vividly described, I would really suggest this book to more mature readers, that 18+ category. It’s not that the whole book is like that, but some scenes were. And though the book would have been incomplete without them, I, myself would have preferred not to be able to read them in such vivid coulours. Not to bore you anymore, I would like to say that the book is fast, what I mean is that it doesn’t bore you with something not truly needed. It’s right to the point and even when we read some of the characters memories, it still is thrilling.

Have you considered reading it?  Don’t even begin to say: it’s not my genre, just try it and I hope, no I do know that you won’t be disappointed. Grab your copy now, and get swept up into action, passion, betrayal and thrilling life of Ellaine Brogan. I myself am very excited because today I am having my monthly author interview, and as I promised it is with Mr. Kenton Kilgore Author of DragonTamer's Daughters series.

Katie: Hello, thank you for this interview, how are you?

Kenton Kilgore:  Just fine.  Thank you for having me.

K.: It’s nice to hear. Can you tell us more about yourself?

K.K.:  I work for the United States federal government, I’ve been married for 25 years, and I have two daughters, Elizabeth (who’s almost 20) and Alexandra (who’s 14).  I live in Stevensville, Maryland.

K.: My first question will be, when did you first start writing?

K.K:  I started writing stories when I was about eight years old, and I’ve never stopped.

K.: Do you remember the first story you ever read and the impact it had on you?

K.K:  The “Sesame Street” show helped me teach myself how to read when I was 3 years old.  I don’t remember the first story I ever read, but when I was little (maybe 5 or so), I read a lot of books about dinosaurs, and if anyone asked me, I could tell them anything that was in those books.  If I was interested in a certain subject, I learned everything I possibly could about it.  That burning curiosity and voracious reading helped later in life.

K.: Why did you write this book and what are your expectations on its behalf?

K.K:  “Dragontamer’s Daughters” started out as a fairy tale for my children when they were much younger.  But as they got older, I wasn’t content to leave the story as it was.  It grew and grew on its own, until it finally wound up being 600+ pages. 

As for my expectations, I’d just like young adults—particularly girls—to read it and enjoy it.  My daytime job pays me well, so writing is something I do for a hobby.

K.: Why Dragons?

K.K:  I’ve always loved dragons, and I was a big “Dungeons & Dragons” player when I was younger.  But it seems to me that dragons are almost always portrayed basically the same, as big, scary, fire-breathing monsters who lie around on piles of treasure all day.  With “Dragontamer’s Daughters,” I wanted to do something different with dragons, and I think I’ve succeeded.  There’s no dragon like Pearl.

K.: What is the greatest joy of writing for you?

K.K:  Having people tell me who much they’ve enjoyed reading one of my books.  I also like breaking new ground in fantasy and science fiction, doing stuff that no other author’s ever done before.

K.: When you’re not writing, how do you spend your time?

K.K:  I love playing Warhammer 40,000 (a sci-fi tabletop wargame), riding my motorcycle (a 2009 Harley Davidson Sportster 883), and watching the Pittsburgh Steelers or Pittsburgh Penguins.

K.: What are you working on next?

K.K:  “Lost Dogs,” a modern-day sci-fi novel set on Kent Island, Maryland, told from the point of view of the dogs who live through an apocalypse.  I’ve owned dogs for most of my life (we have three, currently), but I had to do quite a bit of research on them.  They’re really fascinating animals that I think most people overlook and underestimate.

K.: Can you describe your working place?

K.K:  It’s nothing special: I work at home.

My Thoughts:

I got the book through NetGalley...

As soon as I laid my eyes in this book in NetGalley catalogue, I wanted desperately to read it. And when after 2 or 3 days wating for confirmation were really awful. And when I go it I was really happy. Though I still had to finish one of my other books, but as soon as I did I got my hands in this one.

Let me tell you one something, and don't forget anything I say. Sometimes nightmares really are things that lead people to crazy acts. I loved the book. I loved Quinn, even though I sometimes I did want to slap her, but still I was so desperate to help her overcome demons' influence, and when I got to the end I really did want to slap not only Quinn but Aaron too, and mostly Jeff. It wasn't the fisrt time I wished the book end differently And as it ended like it did now, I am super craving to know what will happen next. Because when Quinn will find out Aaron's "little" secret (and I am not revealing it) she will definitely want to end her life again, and please let it be for good. Not that I don't like her, but that will definitely lead to more good. I guess those who have read the book will understand me. If you haven't read it, go grab your copy, like right now!!!! But bak to the point. I want to ask everybody a question. What will you choose : Life which will be full of torment and knowing that everything wants you dead or actual Death where there is peace but it's still Pretty Dark Nothing? Consider yourself in Quinn's shoes and give an honest answer.

And to conclude my review I would like to describe my least favourite character and some of the worst whiny moments of Quinn. You would think that my least favourite character is Kerstin, huh, guess you are wring. I really despised Jeff. He was such a coward. And I really do hate cowards. And I really hated and wanted to slap Quinn when she was moping around crying : "Jeff, I love you, I need you... blah blah : I wanted to morph into that scene and beat the crap out of her. But I guess she managed to live withought me interfearing.

I would highly recommend this book especially to teens, because its like a selfdiscovery. Everyone struggles with demons inside us, and somethimes they win. We sometimes have such breakdowns and we really want to end our lives , but despite that we always have to remember that there is a purpose why we are on this earth. That life is not honey sometimes and maybe even mostly it's sour like lemons. But it's life and we need to live it. Because after every despair and torture there is always relief.

Hi Everyone, 

It's nice to see you here again :) Mainly my week was very busy, and you can see how it affects my blog, not that much blogging anymore. but still... I think I need to announce this because from this week and on, I will not be posting very frequently, more like 4/5 days a week, not everyday, as I tried to do when I had holidays. But as soon as my winter break is in full blast, I will be back to posting every day. 

My amazing problem with internet is not yet fixed, but I hope when I get home on monday, it will be. College is amazing, and I am ecited to the second week. Also, I got my hands on internet at my Dad's place so yesterday I watched all 2series of Vampire Diaries and 1 serie of Supernatural. And oh God, Vampire Diaries were so awesome, I like how they are making the show, it's not that much based on books, so it's amazing! and Supernatural? that was totally WOW, I couldn't stop watching it.
