Summary

Shouko is still a virgin, and hasn't met a man yet who lives up to her standards. Her friends look up to her -- and would in truth like to give her more than just their respect -- but the only one Shouko looks up to is her famous actress mother, for whom no man is good enough to dedicate herself to. That's when Shouko meets the rumor and reality of her mother's new boyfriend, Ujou. Ujou is different from the others -- an aloof college student 17 years younger than Shouko's mother. The passion that Shouko sees between them becomes what Shouko desires for herself, but while forbidden fruit may be sweeter... it is also more deadly.

Vol. 2, Story 2: Angel Night
Right before we die, an angel comes to our side and waits for the moment when it can ferry our soul to Heaven. In the case of Rin, a pop singer who has just been dumped by her producer boyfriend, it's because her angel is present that she can't commit suicide. She can see the handsome angel Faye, who won't leave her side until his mission to collect her soul is complete...

My Thoughts

Review covers 8 chapters

Hello everyone and welcome back to Katie’s Corner! Mini manga review has a work by Setona Mizuhiro. This time it is not as weird as After School Nightmare, but it has its weird parts. However, it is great in its own way.

I liked and hated this story at the same time. I guess I liked it because the author as always expresses her feelings and ideas very deeply and without any remorse. It is not another “happily every after” romance story. It is everything from happy. The feelings of mother and daughter clash on every page. The admiration ad hatred that they feel towards each other is described amazingly. One chapter they adore each other but as soon as someone appears, in this case a guy, they are ready to hate and rip into shreds each other.

I can never understand that feeling – the feeling of hating your own mother because she is dating the boy you fell in love with. Maybe that was the reason why I didn’t really enjoy it so much. The story has a fitting ending. No one got the guy, and it stays a mystery if mother and daughter reconciled. Also, the way the guy was looking at Shouko’s poster was as if he was finally looking at her. But well, we will never know if they meet again.

I hope you will find some time to read this story; it has lots of ideas that every person should think about. Stay tuned for more on Katie’s Corner and don’t forget to share your thoughts below! Happy reading

XOXO

Katie
