Author: Kate Evangelista

Publication Date: Jan 3, 2015

Publisher: Crescent Moon Press

Summary:

I left Lunar Manor broken, seeking comfort in the hands of Laurel "the Dragon" Hardy, the editor-in-chief of the Daily Gossip. Okay, I may have used him to ease the pain He-Who-Shall-Not-Be-Named caused by his confession of loving someone else. On New Year's Eve! Granted, he was drunk off his ass, but still! I stay with Larry mainly because the dreams are getting worse. Worse enough to wake me in the middle of the night needing the touch of another to save me from losing my mind.

Unfortunately, the handsome bassist of the uber successful indie rock band, Vicious, is never far from my mind. I thought I was rid of him once and for all only to have him show up at my hotel in London. Luka Visraya's power over me is intense. No matter how far I run, I always end up circling back to him.

If you think my story is just some romance about two lovers getting back together, think again. Little did I know that returning to Luka meant I'd be plunging myself into a world more familiar than I ever thought possible. Trust me when I say I didn't believe it either when the truth finally came out.

My Thoughts:

Well… I guess I should start, but I do not even know how! Especially if I even forgot to put my opening sentence here. First impression of the book without opening it: wow, that cover is fantastic! Second impression while reading: Freaking hell! Can it get more intense? And my last impression after finishing: what the hell did just happen? How did we get from here to there? And well I was thinking about it so much that I couldn’t fall asleep, though I did do some work on my project and contently passes out with my laptop. Hopefully I at least put the alarm, so I didn’t sleep off on my morning lecture.

But let me get back to the book, first of all, and will just to make sure you have read the first book in Series – Savor, right? If not I think there re paperbacks in stock, and there should be an ebook too. You might have a small problem with Relish as when I was buying it, it was nearly out of stock. If interested you can read the review of Savor on my blog. But let me finally get to hat I wanted to tell you about this book. Simply put it’s fantastic! Before starting it I reread Savor, as it was quote a long time ago that I read it. Therefore, when I started reading Relish I was double excited to get the answers. Right after starting the book I got a bit confused with the timeline. As a bit too much time has passed between the books. I was on edge every time, as Kate has built the tension so well the bomb aka the truth got dumped on me full time 5 or 6 chapters near the end. Yes, I was actually thinking that I imagined paranormal stuff, as there were no real signs of anyone using their powers. But well, in the end I got what I wanted, even more so. I didn’t really like the motif of the so-called villain. It was too petty. The story deserved more, but the whole idea of alternation? It blew my mind. If all possible outcomes, this one never came to my mind. They were similar, in the magic aspect but never at that scale! The character that I thought were already fully developed in the first book, show us even more feelings and fully shock you with their decisions as well as declarations. In contrary to the first book, which was in some parts about Vicious, Relish is solely focused on Dakota and Lucas. We get to see the band not that often and always together. I liked the changed in Lucas, but still I loved his old self minus being a jackass. But even that suited hi a lot. We get to see him change a lot, and become more the person he was in the past.

I want to talk more about this book, but I’m afraid I will spoil something major that the series was building up. And I do not want you to have that feeling: “when’s that going to happen?” while reading it/ you have to make it some naturally, otherwise you’ll be confused as hell. Do not forget that this novel is 18+ at some points, and those points were highly appreciated by me while reading/ the only question hat I’m left wondering is if at the end which Dakora was she, meaning her appearance. I guess, I’ll need to reread the book sometime after and understand it. Before I forget I’ll be soon reviewing Taste, and so far I think the book has nothing in common to this series, except the names of the characters/ but I do need to read the book first. I hope you’ll get your copy soon! Enjoy it to its fullest and don’t forget to share your thoughts below! Stay tuned for more reviews as well as promos. Don’t miss your next favourite book or manga. Happy reading!

XOXO

Katie
