Finishing A Series

This wasn’t the first series I’ve ever finished writing. It was, however, the hardest series I’ve ever had to tell. Why? Well, I think because I lived with the characters for so long. Knowing Rachel from the time she was sixteen until she was eighteen, I came to feel almost motherly toward her. (Even as I threw her into one horrible situation after another.)

I wanted her ending to feel real, to feel actualized. However, Rachel was always a character who knew her own mind and she fought me until I finally gave into her way of thinking. After all this time, I’m hoping the readers will think I did her justice.
