Review : The Liberator by Victoria Scott (Dante Walker #2)

Summary (from Goodreads)

Title:  The Liberator

Author:  Victoria Scott

Publication Date:  27 August, 2013

Publisher:  Entangled Teen

Summary:

 Bad boy, meet bad girl.

Dante has a shiny new cuff wrapped around his ankle, and he doesn't like that mess one bit. His new accessory comes straight from Big Guy himself and marks the former demon as a liberator. Despite his gritty past and bad boy ways, Dante Walker has been granted a second chance.

When Dante is given his first mission as a liberator to save the soul of seventeen-year-old Aspen, he knows he’s got this. But Aspen reminds him of the rebellious life he used to live and is making it difficult to resist sinful temptations. Though Dante is committed to living clean for his girlfriend Charlie, this dude’s been a playboy for far too long…and old demons die hard.

With Charlie becoming the girl she was never able to be pre-makeover and Aspen showing him how delicious it feels to embrace his inner beast, Dante will have to go somewhere he never thought he’d return to in order to accomplish the impossible: save the girl he’s been assigned to, and keep the girl he loves.

My Thoughts:

Well, I was only a tiny little bit disappointed. I loved the first book. It was truly amazing. Making a good girl bad, that was something. Somehow, I was looking forward seeing something similar. I really thought that Aspen would be different. The way she held herself screamed false, and you could have understood that she wasn’t like that. That she was hurting deep inside, and blah, blah, blah.

Even though I was a tiny little bit disappointed, didn’t matter for my overall opinion. The book is still great and I am seriously waiting for the final one. You will be amazed by Charlie, and will get to know Dante a little bit better from “the other” side. And you will get to see more of Kraven – Angel dude, the liberator with wings. And though there is not much said about him, you will read him astonishingly well, or maybe that was me? But you will definitely read through some of his words.

And the question of the day, or maybe questions are ……

1.    Will Dante be able to liberate Aspen’s soul?
2.   Will Dante be able to journey to hell and retrieve Somebody’s soul?
3.     Will Dante be able to summon wings, and if yes what will they look like?
4.   Who the hell is Aspen?

Well the answers for these and many other intriguing questions you will get as soon as you break the spine of your own copy. Grab it now, and get sucked into amazing world created by Victoria Scott. Well there is one more question, but I won’t ask it now, or I will definitely spoil one of the best and funniest moments in the book…

Happy reading!!!!! Don’t forget to leave comments, they mean a lot to me. Enjoy the book!!! And as today is Halloween, I wanted to ask you a question: What are you gonna read? And if you are dressing up, what costume, any ideas what should I do? J J J have a spooky Halloween!!!!

Book Review : Fated by Alyson Noel (Soul Seekers #1)

Summary (from Goodreads)

Title:  Fated

Author:  Alyson Noel

Publication Date:  22nd May 2012

Publisher:  St. Martin's Griffin

Summary:

Until now, he's existed only in her dreams -
but fate is about to bring them together.

I shove through the crowd, knocking into girls and bouncing off boys, until one in particular catches me, steadies me.
I feel so secure, so at home in his arms.
I melt against his chest-lift my gaze to meet his. Gasping when I stare into a pair of icy blue eyes banded by brilliant flecks of gold that shine like kaleidoscopes, reflecting my image thousands of times.
The boy from my dream.
The one who died in my arms.

Strange things are happening to Daire Santos. Crows mock her, glowing people stalk her, time stops without warning, and a beautiful boy with unearthly blue eyes haunts all her dreams. Fearing for her daughter’s sanity, Daire’s mother sends her to live with the grandmother she’s never met. A woman who recognizes the visions for what they truly are—the call to her destiny as a Soul Seeker—one who can navigate the worlds between the living and dead.

There on the dusty plains of Enchantment, New Mexico, Daire sets out to harness her mystical powers. But it’s when she meets Dace, the boy from her dreams, that her whole world is shaken to its core. Now Daire is forced to discover if Dace is the one guy she's meant to be with...or if he’s allied with the enemy she's destined to destroy.

My Thoughts:

It was my first encounter with Alyson's work, and I like it, Even though I read all three books, right after each other, This one was not the best in series, but still it was amazing. New world, and all that Jazz.

The author really outdid herself maiking this new world. And Fated, that's the best title for the book. It's is right to the point, and no point in arguing about that. Guess, this review will be short one, why? Because I actually read all three books already, and wrote their reviews first, so what I wish to say will spoil other two and this one too, and I really don't intend to spoil a really good book for you.

But what I will say is :  Even everyone one of us wants be change our lives when we turn 16, to uncover some dark secret our parents were keeping from us. To say: I knew it! but does it come true? I'll say not for me, when I turned 16, nothing special happened, and everything was boringly normal. But that can't be said about Daire, our current book main character. She the one who wasn't dreeming of being not whole human, is that partly human being. Did she ask for it, no, did she get it? Hell yeah!. So while we, normal people want to become something special, Daire got it. And trust me, it's not something to want. There are glowing people who want something from you, there is a boy in her dreams, who dies in her hand, there is a a twin brother of that guy haunthing here andd her fated one and there is a prophecy coming true! Still want her life? I don't think so. Oh and I nearly forgot, and there are doctors saying she is going delusional. So good for being normal.

This book leaves you craving for the seond one, that is why if you consider reading Fated, by it with Echo too, Why? because you will want to read them together right after each other. So I will say only this now, Happy Reading Guys! it is an amazing book, with a whole new world unravelling before your eyes, which will leave you brethless, and craving for the sequel... Enjoy it, and I do hope you will. Don't forget to tell me what you thought about it!!! :))

Liebster Award Round 2

Hi everyone, I am so happy that I got nominated twice. As it turns out I was nominated by Chenzie @ Mean Who You Are about 2 months ago, and because of my moving to college I missed her link, and also by Reviews from Bookworm:

The Liebster award, for anyone that is as unfamiliar as I was, is given to new bloggers with under 200 followers. It is a way to allow people to get to know you a bit better but also to bring new people to your blog.

The rules that I read are as follows:

1.     Link back to blogger that nominates you
2.     Answer the questions the blogger has set you
3.     Nominate 10 others and set them a list of questions
4.     Tell your nominees about the award and link to your post

So, not to miss Chenzie’s nomination, I will be answering her questions now:

What are you currently reading and what are you planning to read next?

If you any idea, that my TBR is as high as my ceiling, you would have laughed, so in order to read and not buy, I am reading all the requests and NetGalley books. So now I am reading Counting Shadows by Olivia Rivers ( it’s awesome) and I will read afterwards the Shepherd by Travis Luedke.

If you could only pick one book/series to be stranded on an island with, what would it be?

Cassandra Clare’s The Mortal Instruments or Infernal Devices.

If you could have one ability (Magical or skill) what would it be?

Can I have an ability to wield 4+1 elements as it is in J.L Armentrouts Covenant series? I swear I will not be like Seth! More like Alex. J

What inspired you blog name and theme?

Well my blog name is Katie’s Corner, and I really had a hard time choosing it, but then I thought that it would be perfect, I didn’t want to be anonymous, and I just found the theme on blogger and fell in love with it J in the future, I will change it maybe :D

What made you start a blog?

I wanted to raise my voice, and after reading many book blogs, I thought, why not to write too, why not to tell people what you think?

Who is your favourite author?

You didn’t ask that one! I think my favourite author is Mikhail Bulgakov, Kurt Vonnegut, then J.K. Rowling, then Cassandra Clare, and also C.C. Hunter.

Do you have any weird bookishly ways?

What’s that? J does it count that I prefer reading at night when everybody is sleeping and thinking that I am a peer character?

What has been you favourite moments of blogging so far?

Receiving the first email from the author asking to review his book.

Who is your favourite character you identify with?

I think it’s Tessa from TID and Kylie from Shadow Falls series, I have Kylie as my role model sometimes, but I am not going to change my hair color to blond, no way!

What is your favourite Movie/series that was based on a book?

Well the first prize as always goes to Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings. Then comes “White Queen” a TV show, and also I love Vampire Diaries, though the book is very different from the show, but still.

Thank you Chenzie for nominating me, and sorry that I missed the link.

Got Nomineed for Liebster Award

I had no idea what a Liebster award was until I was nominated. Now I see why so many blogs way they are award free zones, this takes time and effort, but for us, new bloggers it is a great way to promote our blogs out there. I really found information here very useful.

The Liebster award, for anyone that is as unfamiliar as I was, is given to new bloggers with under 200 followers. It is a way to allow people to get to know you a bit better but also to bring new people to your blog.

The rules, that I read are as follows:

1.     Link back to blogger that nominates you
2.     Answer the questions the blogger has set you
3.     Nominate 10 others and set them a list of questions
4.     Tell your nominees about the award and link to your post

I was nominated by Reviews from Bookworm, so thank you, and here are my answers to her questions.

When and why did you start blogging?

I started blogging in mid August, because I thought that it was time for my reviews to see internet and not be stuck in my notebook, I wanted to share my feelings about books with others.

What has surprised you the most about blogging?

It takes so much time sometimes to prepare the posts :D

What is your favourite book to film adaption and why?

Definitely harry Potter because the movie doesn’t lose the book’s charm, and vice versa.

If you had to pick a favourite book series, what would it be?

Uh, tricky question, I have so many of them, but I think the series which I can read every day are Harry Potter and Infernal Devices by Cassandra Clare.

What book are you most looking forward to in 2014?

How can you even ask that question? It’s killing me, but I guess the final book in Mortal Instruments Series: City of Heavenly Fire, I have been waiting for this book for 2 years already

If you could have dinner with one author, who would you choose and what would you want to ask them?

Heather L. Reid author of Pretty Dark Nothing, the question would be, Why haven’t you killed Quinn too? That would have been perfect ending!

What is your favourite & least favourite genre?

My favourite is Paranormal Romance, least favourite is … wow I don’t know, I just hate where there is one protagonist a ghost and another a human. I don’t know what genre it is J

What would you say is the worst book you have ever read?

I am sorry to say this but hereafter by T. Hudson.

If you could live inside the world of one book which one would it be?

Ouch, that’s something I have never thought about. I guess in the world of C.C. Hunter author of Shadow Falls Series.

1.     What was the first book you read?

2.     What is the happiest moment for you while blogging?

Book Review: Flight by Alyssa Rose Ivy (Crescent Chronicles #1)

Summary (from Goodreads)

Title:  Flight

Author:  Alyssa Rose Ivy

Publication Date:  16 August 2012

Publisher:  CreateSpace

Summary:

Sometimes you just have to take flight.

A summer in New Orleans is exactly what Allie needs before starting college. Accepting her dad’s invitation to work at his hotel offers an escape from her ex-boyfriend and the chance to spend the summer with her best friend. Meeting a guy is the last thing on her mind—until she sees Levi.

Unable to resist the infuriating yet alluring Levi, Allie finds herself at the center of a supernatural society and forced to decide between following the path she has always trusted or saving a city that might just save her.

My Thoughts:

I came across this book in the beginning or summer. But with final exams, I didn't get a chance to even click "buy" button. And only some days ago, when I was looking through my lists on Goodreads page, I came across it. I actually bought only 2 books, why? Because I forgot to see if there was a third one. So no I am waiting to get the third one. I know I am a real genius for that.

Even though I have this whole lot of author request books, also from NetGalley, and my own TBR books waiting to be read, I still began reading this one. I finished it in one day. And my reaction during and after I finished the book was : "AMAZING!!!..." The book is truly amazing and original. I liked Alyssa's style very much, it was easy to read and you really didn't want to put the book down. The only thing why I didn't start the second book right away was that I knew I had to write the review first in order to remember only first book feelings and I really wanted to sleep.

Allie is an amazing character, and you love her immediately. Her best friend Jess is what we call boy crazy, but when things go way south with Jared we get to know Jess's other side, which we also like. But the best character apart from Allie is of course Levi. He is self-confident, and in the beginning it's really annoying, but after 2-3 chapters you take Levi's side and urge Allie to be with him. But trust me you still will have moments when you will hate his guts. Unfortunately for us we don't get much of describtion of any character. We do know that Allie is 5.9 with long legs, dark hair and green eyes and that every man wants her. But that's all, I mean come on, that's it? And what about Levi? He is taller, way taller than 5.9 is athletically built and has gray-blue eyes. Oh he has wings too. But don't you dare think that he is an angel! Nope, you will know what he is as soon as you crack open your book, not really soon, but on 1/3 or much less. Trust me, you will be really amazed what he is. And that new world which Alyssa gave to us? Just amazing A+++ to it. Because it is not only original, but it is also well built, though I would have still wanted to know more. Guess I have something in common with Allie.

But I guess, To understand my excitement about the book, you should read it for yourself. And I don't think you'll be dissapointed. It has everything a teenage mind needs. So I do hope you are now considering reading it. So I will not prolong the waiting. Happy Reading, and enjoy it, Don't forget to leave comments!!! :))

Blog Tour Stop & Giveaway : Mate of Alpha by Marie Mason

Hi Guys,

Today I am hosting a tour stop for Marie Mason's book Mate of the Alpha. Enjoy!!!

A Little Bit About the Book:

Ethan Scott was reluctant to claim his mate, Lily Reynolds. He was afraid his carnal needs would be too much for the curvy innocent. His wolf was of another mind, pushing the man relentlessly to mate. But Ethan knew once he had the brown-haired beauty there would no turning back. He’d claim her, mate her, and bred her. When she’s attacked by a group of rouge wolves, Ethan fears he has left his claiming too late and will lose his mate forever. When he comes to her rescue, he discovers the spirited Lily is more than ready to be the mate of an alpha.

Lily Reynolds has been crushing on her boss since she started work at Wolfe Enterprises six months ago. She knew the chances of attracting the wolf into a long-term relationship were slim to none – slim being a state she hadn’t achieved since childhood. She loved her curves and knew there was someone out there who would love every soft, luscious inch of her voluptuous body. Heartbroken, she knew Ethan Scott wasn’t that man despite the hot and cold signals the wolf shifter had been given her for months.

A Little Bit About the Author:

Marie Mason loves to write romances about shifters and the curvy girls who love them. Her stories focus on the romance element in any genre – erotica, paranormal, contemporary. There is always an happy-ever-after in a Marie Mason romance.

In his mate, he sensed a reserve. There was a wariness within the depths of her pretty, brown eyes that spoke of something, he suspected, that had to do with a man. It made him angry to think anyone had ever hurt his mate. But knowing he’d have to overcome her natural resistance and some asshole’s past behavior was a challenge.

A sense of challenge in regards to a woman, especially a mate, was arousing as hell.

Thankfully, there wasn’t so much as a hint of feeling intimidated by him in her demeanor. Fate would not have given him a woman who would be cowered by his dominance. She would have given him a mate who completed him, who balanced the arrogance of his wolf.

There were other reasons for his reluctance to claim his mate. There was an air of such pure innocence surrounding Lily that it frightened him. He was a creature of the forest, an earthy, sexual being. He knew mating with him would expose her to his wolf’s – hell, the man’s – ferocious carnal appetite, the constant craving. The need to dominate her sexually. Of course, he would protect her and provide for her as no other male ever could. He was her mate, too. Designed to fulfill her needs and wants and desires. He just didn’t know if she was ready to be the mate of the alpha.

He smiled as he handed her the contracts. Slowly, sensuously, sending a silent message he hoped she was starting to understand. He wanted her and he was going to have her. She was careful not to touch his hand as she took the sheaf of papers. Noting her stealth to not so much as brush his fingers with her own, Ethan’s eyes danced with deviltry.

“I’m sure I can manage it,” she said primly before she turned and walked back to her office, unaware of the big, bad wolf ogling her rounded ass and curvy legs.

The sensation of simmering expectancy inside Ethan ratcheted up to rioting anticipation. The man and wolf both thought – tonight is the night.
